I've lost interest for sure.

Everything is stock on my car except my audio system (which is a pretty basic 5 channel setup, I demodded the expensive stuff.)

I'm gonna save up for an SUV.

I love my xB too much to get rid of it. I'll drive it 'til the x chips away and it just says "B".

Kind of an interesting question, raises the issue of why one buys any particular car. I bought the xB2 to replace my freshly dead-at-the-time Eclipse, and my criteria were "low" cost, lots of cargo space, decent gas mileage, and at least a reasonable driving experience. The xB2 met those needs and still does. The only changes since then are it now looks nicer, feels better, and is more enjoyable and comfortable to drive. Oh yes, and the Eclipse is no longer dead ! Since my needs haven't changed, I guess my interest in owning the xB2 hasn't changed either. (Thinking of the Eclipse, I'd say the two vehicles complement each other, so restoration of the Eclipse doesn't negate the value of the xB2.)

The guy who did my last xB2 PDR work showed me a photo of his car that he'd spent time modifying (nice Detroit iron), but he mentioned now he had no further mods to make, he'd lost interest and was thinking of selling and buying something else. I guess, from my own perspective, after getting your vehicle the way you want it, maybe some other hobby/pursuit could take center stage and you could settle for just enjoying what you've already created !

^ Well said, because that's what I aim for.

My goal is to bring my xB to a particular point, and then enjoy the hell out of it.

I have lost intrest in this car from two weeks old.
3 Windshields soon to be 4
Faling drivers seat
faling lower control arm bushings at 90K
POS transmission
Drivers side mirror faling
plastic that scraches like it was made of butter

I need two more years and 65K out of this car at that point the milage will kill the value so I am thinking of a part out of panels and such
To say I am looking foward to that moment is an understatment

These were the criteria for me. We needed a car with lots of cargo space and NOT a truck. The XB is great value for the money- it has it's flaws like rear visabilty is crap and the blind spots caused by both A pillars is going to get a pedestrian injured one day. But The XB1 & 2 have been the most reliable cars we have ever owned - and that counts for a lot.

If I need a power fix, I ride one of my bikes. The Suzuki Bandit in the sig pic just leaps. That keeps performance vehicle costs down and insurance is low too. Then the Xb is there when I need to move furniture, get a water heater, get the groceries etc etc.

I guess because of my "bike addiction" the expectation I have for a car is lower / more practical rather than a love hate thing.

I love my xB to death, but if I'm ever tired of it it's because I really want a Jeep.

I got my NBM Dec of 08...Ive been in a funk for a while now, but I was out of work for about 6 months and got wayyyyy behind on bills..so mods have been on the last of my list....But now that I just started with a new company a couple weeks ago, I may get bit by the mod bug again. 18's are in the house, steelies are on, ready for winter..Oh and my only "repair" so far was the drivers seat back springs broke through the rear when I hit about 34000 now im at 54000 miles on tha ride, so not that bad.

Still happy with my 08, bought it new in May 2007, approaching 60K.
TRD Rear sway bar, TRD Front Strut Bar, TRD Lower springs, Rear Spoiler, 16 x 7 Weds Sport Alloy wheels, 225/50/16 Toyo Proxies 4.
Drive the **** out of it.

About 50K, have rattle/wind noise at 80 mph on pass side rear quarter panel, working on finding the caue. I just turn up the radio until I can figure it out. lol

Was going to trade, but I have 5 months left to pay it off and it suites my needs great.

It is my daily driver, also I have other vehicles to drive though:
2001 Ford Lightning (Built motor, Whipple, etc),
1991 F-150 Lariat Long bed pickup with Tommy Lift Tailgate, lol
(Built Boss 408 motor, Vortech Si Blower, Air to Air intercooler, Trick flow heads, etc. A sleeper lol).
1981 Toyota Pickup 22R motor, Headers, Weber Carb
2008 Big Dog EFI K-9, 117cc Motorcycle

Not trying to brag..I'm older than most of you guys on here..

fell in love w/ xB2 when it 1st came out. Bought one then lowered it in TRD & put an 18s. Stopped modding it & lose interest after 11months. so, i bought myself an older RWD last yr in April. & modded that. Im still lovin that RWD. I have yet to take it to autoxing or track but someday will. SC is the next mod on my list when $$$ becomes available.
RWD FTW.

Yea, when I got my very first car (hand me down), rear wheel drive was all there was. My first FWD was a '79 Honda Civic CVCC and it was a really good car (fun to drive, great gas mileage). My second FWD is the xB2 and it's just fine in my book. RWD is good, AWD is good, and so is FWD, just a question of what you're in the mood for !

I guess my lack of enthusiasm can be summed up by the items i've been selling in the classifieds. Air suspension is pending sale, CAI is up for sale as of today, stock suspension is back on the car along with the stock intake, etc. The conundrum for me is this - I am nearly paid off on the note, it only has 15K on the odometer, it still has new tires, and I still like the car. I'm just not excited like I was... I will probably just lower it on springs and drive the living hell out of it, let it get scratched, ding'd, and generally worn, then trade it in on something else in a couple of years... Time will tell.

That seems tough ! On the one hand you have "like", on the other you have "excited". For me, it's pretty much a question of what allows me to relax and enjoy the car. I guess I could mostly do that by dropping back to my Eibach Prokit springs and TRD rear sway bar, but it would still leave a void, the other changes do make a difference -- even if only psychological! Call it a question of pride of ownership !

I Love Mine more then ever....... It sounds great with exhaust and intake..... I take it most of you hating on your cars have automatic trannies and live where a.) have mainly straight roads b.) cant risk speeding all around.
I am lucky to live in a place where there are basically NO police and have non busy curvy roads. The XB2 is SOOOO Fun to drive redlining the ____ out of it doin 65 on switch back roads. How many of you really played with your car?????? just sayin
