ive got about 44K miles now and im looking to go synthetic in my trans.
what is everyone running and what fluid does it require.

also any idea how much fluid is required for a refill?

Search, this has been covered many times in the xb2 and tc forums.

I used redline MT-90 and it took just about 3 quarts in my 5-speed transmission.

 

I used mobile 1 in my xa, 2 qts. Just fill it up til it starts to over flow the fill hole. Make sure to get the same GL rating. I believe the xa was gl5 and some synth fluids are a gl4. Make sure not to spill it and use a drain pan to toss as this stuff smells nasty.

 

i've been running royal purple for the last 25,000mi and i'm very happy with it. aprox 3 qts.

 

Redline works great! Smooth shifts and no high speed gear grinds :D
