I hate you... You have the exact deck I want instead of my flip out. How do you like it?

Good choice on the SoloX. A loud subwoofer indeed. And one is probably all you need. I know I'm opting for a 15" RE XXX. I just need to scrape up some funds.

Thanks, its a loud sub indeed... very loud. In case anyone was wondering there's another port like the one on the left under the peice of mdf, but the box itself is an SPL box tuned to like 45 heartz, which is great for competitions, but bad for listening. so i put that on for daily driving.

I thats also the Kicker bass **** i cut into my dash to the left of my steering wheel.
Not in the pictures but to power the system I put an Audio Force 1100F power cell where my spare tire used to be, it works great with no noticable voltage drops.

I have a new grill comming in this weekend so ill try and get some better quality pics up after that

You can also throw an extra battery under the passenger side seat if need be! I know that's what I did! ;)

Loud bass is where it's at! I know when my amp was functioning, I could hear a lot of rattles. Kinda bums me out.

I like it a lot, you can do anything with that deck, i have the bluetooth and nav peices comming in as well.

As for the rattles, more sound deadening, you can never have to much. I think i have to put 2 layers of 1/2" dynamat in parts just the get rid of some rattles, and i havnt even attempted my roof yet

......so how is it in the snow?? it's about to start snowing here in MA and I'm definitely curious how i'll do! of course i know we won't have Fairbanks like snow (thank god!)...i lived in AK for 5 years - but had a 4wd jeep, so driving in snow is nothing new...but a brand new car in the winter is enough to make anyone a bit nervous!!

it does real well on ice, but if you get more then a few inches of snow its kinda funky, if it gets icy i would recomend blizzaks as well.

one thing i forgot to mention i have the 5 speed manual so i did have to use vipers new Neutral Safety switch.

The more and more I see the new xB, the more I like it. I just might have to get myself one as my second ride. Nice ride!

Not real familiar with Subs and Boxes, but that cut-out you did for the Sub Level Dial is awesome. It's looks great over there. Nice work.

I remember when Kicker first introduced their "Solobaric" subs. Their concept was to create a sub with such a strong motor, that it would perform the same as 2 drivers mounted face-to-face. Mounting 2 drivers face to face allows you to halve the box size. In other words, Solobarics (aka. Solos) were all about SMALL boxes. That thing is huge for a single ten (although 10" round has significantly less Sd than a 10" square). The manual says you could have had a 1 cf sealed enclosure, but that would have too small to mount your amp. I'm really surprised that they recommend a 2.25 cf vented box for "space-limited applications". And the recommended vented box is 4.91 cf + port displacement (0.3 cf) + structure. Well, so much for the original Solo concept.

So, is it worth not having any hatch space for a single subwoofer?

I have my 4th order bandpass with one Orion H2 12 pointed at the roof. It flexes which looks cool, but takes away loudness. I know my box is louder port up.

I'm going to be building a box for 2 12's that have sub up port back. We'll see how it goes...

I still love your setup! I love the idea of getting loud off one sub with a gob of power.

Ya, i did the 4.9+ port displacment, overall it comes to like 5.3 cu/ft. I did loose a lot of space. (including my spare tire where i mounted my audio force 1100F) but Ilove it. that single ten can easily outperform two 15's. And what can I say, I'm a bass head.

I have not actually metered it yet, but it has the bas of 15's with the response of a 10". Something you must actually hear to believe

I'm in alaska too and i have driven in over a foot of snow and i havent had any problems it did great just kept trucking on through even though i was plowing with it. The "funkyness" you are feeling might be your vsc kicking in, you can turn it off or get used to it, i havent had a problem getting even close to stuck though.
