Default OEM Security

Hi,

I just installed OEM Scion security today on my xB. Tapping window glass and manually opening the door (armed) do trigger the alarm, so it works. However, kicking hard the tire does not.
Is it true that it doesn't have a shock sensor ? Meaning, if the car is hit by other car (as long as it doesn't break the glass or unlock the door), it won't trigger the alarm ?

No motion sensor... glass breakage or locks only.

Sorry to "break" it to you, but there are much better after market alarms for the same $$.

an aftermarket motion or shock sensor can be added to your existing oem system.... but yeah, aftermarket comes stacked with those features for about the same coin

Also, if you can adjust that glass break, you might want to turn it down. The way its responding now could trigger some false alarms. You might have issues when it rains.

The reason I went with Scion security was I could use the same key for both keyless entry and the alarm. And with the available installation guide and plug 'n play system, I could install it myself to save me some bucks.

Based on the answers I got from you all, I would have gone with aftermarket one.
I wished I did post a question in this forum about this security.

Thank you all.......
