Rear rotors a pricy dealership only item???
Are rear rotors for the 2008-2012 XB a pricy dealership only item? I assisted my brother with replacing front brakes on his 2009 XB and he mentioned that he went to buy rear rotors for his XB and the parts place told him it was a dealer only thing. Thinking he was $h!tting me or the parts place was a small hole in the wall place, I inquired this morning when I went to get a few things from Advance auto. They confirmed it was a dealership only thing WTF!!!?!!
I then called a toyota scion dealer and inquired about the price of rear rotors and was told they were $120+tax a piece
Why are rear rotors for this car a dealer only item? I must say i am a bit disappointed in this car. Since I have owned it, I have discovered less then stellar gas mileage, questionable build decisions(i.e. no temp gauge), bad dealership experiences with arrogant techs who have a holier then thou attitude, a corporate office that thanks me for my feedback BUT offers no assistance on what to do in the future regarding issues that were not addressed(i.e. coolant smell), overpriced dealer only parts(I could see if it was a seat or body part BUT a rotor????). I am starting to feel I bought a European car instead of a reliable parts aplenty Toyota
I don't mean to rant as I like the car but it is starting to get frustrating fast

Ever heard of Google? There are about a dozen options for rear brake rotors available starting at $25 each but in your case I highly recommend trading your XB in on another quality GM product like your Vibe...
I didn't know that the Vibe was an even uglier version of the Matrix. I have no interest in fugly, boring cars like that. As for the rear rotors, they're the same as the Rav4 and available everywhere.
Lol the way I read your comment I thought you knew that and you were poking fun at him. Thought maybe he had said in the past his vibe was great but Toyotas suck. So I thought it was funny because the vibe was a joint between GM and Toyota.
xB rotors are not a dealership only item, just OEM Toyota rotors are dealership only. If you have to have OEM Toyota rotors, TRDsparks sells the fronts for $79.28 each and the rears for $92.66 each...
and yea, Google is your friend.

He only mentioned his Vibe in between complaints about Toyota and his Scion. It sounded like he liked the Vibe but hates his XB.
