Default Rear seat space

OK, I looked, I searched.. spent a half hour and came up blank.

I am very close to trading in my VW Beetle for a Scion xB2, but need to know if 3 small-medium sized kids will be able to sit side by side by side in the back without sitting on each others laps. I did look at one a few days ago, and it looks big enough, but I was wondering if any of you owners have done this with 3 kids or even three adults.

Thanks!

I went on a road trip with my fiance, her father, her aunt and 1of her aunts daughters.
No complaints. My fiance, her aunt and her cousin fit fine in the back.

YES.. thats one of the reasons i chose it over a camry.. the flat wide back seat fit 5 adults with real legroom...

My lady has 3 kids and in my last car that was always the complaint.. to tight for them in the seat together..
Other than a real 7 seaters or minivan this car has the most room IMO

The original xB (mine's an 05) reportedly had more passenger space in the back seat than an Audi A6 had in its FRONT cabin. So, yeah--lots and lots of usable space on that nice flat seat cushion (although I've yet to carry any ants on trips . . . LOL (sorry, tCTaco!!)

Space in the back was a big concern for me. I'm 6'3" and have a tall 4 year old son who sits behind me, and a 8 month old daughter in a car seat behind the passenger seat...more than enough room. The guy who sold me mine told me he recently sold an xB2 to a lady with 3 kids/carseats and they fit.

I seated 5 men in my xB2 last week. I asked how the three felt in the back, plenty of leg room, shoulder room was a bit tight, but they were big guys.

shoulder room will be the only thing thats semi-tight. leg room and head room will be insane. The car is very wide though, they should all fit relatively easy, maybe just rubbing shoulders a bit. I can say pretty certainly though not nothing else with two rows of seats will be as comfortable for five.
