Default Removal of Lower Dashboard

I've install XM with a direct feed. I need to mount the control on the front of the lower dash next to the Aux power outlet. The sticky mount won't stay on the dash due to the grainy texture. The mount has two holes and if can remove that lower panel, I can mount the bracked with two bolts. How does that panel come loose?

Thanks

It's true about the shifter plate amongst other things. Pull the shifter plate straight up towards the roof of the car. You will then find 2 screws that need to be removed under that plate. After this, the whole lower part of the dash you are trying to remove, will have to be pulled towards the rear of the car (this included the driver side and passenger side as well). It's actually quite simple. Mind you this is all going by memory, anybody else that knows better please correct me. It's been a few months since I've taken the dash apart lol. Also, you really can't mess anything up, the plastic is very soft and pliable, not too much of a chance of breaking anything off.
