Default RPM Problem?

I got a semi automatic... For fun I was trying 2 go 0-60 and time it... When I used the manual part (shift from 1-4) I was watching my RPM and when i shifted it wouldnt move... It would keep going higher... Same with automatic, I held down the gas and the RPM wouldnt shift down... Idk whats wrong? Is there anything wrong? I would only let it go to 6000 RPM I wouldnt let it get into 7 or it would be in the red zone...

Any help?

you have to realize that its still an automatic. if it shifted when ever you told it to it will would fall to pieces. when you shift up a gear, it only shifts when the computer feels that its safe. so that means its going to watch your throttle position to judge if you it needs to shift or it feels like you can stay in that gear.

as for when youre in "D" same story applies. pressing the gas a little wont drop a gear. press it down more and it will drop a gear for you.
