It was a pretty fun event. People were beating the crap outta those poor xBs on the track (including me). Free food and drinks, plus tons of Scion logo covered stuff was handed out, as usual.

No xD stuff in sight, though. Just a "virtual" display. The xBs were "pre-production" and used shiny, smooth interior plastic.

All in all, it was a cool setup. I'll probably be at the L.A. event as well.

One funny thing.... They had a big poster with a rundown of the new xB versus it's "competition". Guess what they were comparing it to.... The Honda Element!

what should i expect? how was the virtual xD?

 

The xD Mentation was a "virtual" display. There was an area where the xD "is" but you can only see it on screens. If someone walked into that area, it would look (on the screen) like they were standing next to it, ect. They also had these "magic" books you hold that give you a rundown of all of the xD features. Once again, it's just a book, but on the screen you see a virtual display in your hands. Kinda cool, but I really wanted to see the xD in person.

The food was pretty good. Free drinks, no alcohol, but I snatched up like 3 free Rockstars Good energy boost right there!

The test drive was around a short track of cones and a guy rode with you. They were totally cool though. People were beating the crap outta those boxes. All you smelled was burnt rubber and clutch. There were two Autos, one 5-speed. I drove both. There was no limit on how many times you could drive it, just get in line again.

The xB on display had a little moment of drama when the power inverter caught on fire! but they had it under control.

It was a totally laid back environment. I had fun, you will too.
