Scratches everywhere??
Has anyone noticed that the XB2 seems to pick us scratches easily?? It seems like everyday i find new ones on mine. anyone else notice this??? maybe its normal?
How can a car pick up scratches? You just are not careful enough. Your dark color will show scratches if you just barley touch it especially if it the slightest bit dirty or dusty. Seriously anything darker than silver, you can't let ANYONE touch it or lean against it.
It was true with gen 1 and I would assume the new ones are the same. Just about the time I felt I had to do something, I changed cars. Expensive fix, but there' nothing to do about it. Eventually that paint is going to suffer. The white and silver don't show it as much, but I'm even beginning to think the bugs are leaving scratches when they hit. The paint jobs on these cars look great to start. There are a lot of posts about the susceptibility of the paint. So...
Normal, but it sucks.

I have a touch of OCD so it really irratates me..... i actually am very care full.. i always park in the empty part of parking lots.... dont follow cars close. I heard that the scions dont have alot of coats of paint like other cars. that may be a issue.
I have the same problem here due to swirl marks
Dark colored vehicles show it BAD! I've tried some Eagle-one nano-wax and its helped a little bit, but I'm planning to get a porter cable buffer to remove them at some point.

been taking care of my xb the same as i did my red truck when it was new. the paint is definatly cheap.
i notice everything especially when i wash and wax it. and it's always something new.

Me too, that is why I got silver and I have gunmetal wheels. A super low maintenance package.
It's all about the care...
My year old BSP looks better then cars on the lot... You just have to care for them correctly and stop "blaming" it on the cars paint.
Wash your car correctly and keep up with it! You won't have swirls or little scratches.
Rock chips and stuff though, will happen, but what car doesn't? Especially with a front end like ours.

Regardless of the car, you will need to take care of it every once and a while beyond just washing it. Clay it, use a paint cleaner, polish, and wax...
My suggestion is to wash and clay it, use meguiars #80 or #83 depending on how swirly your finish is (#83 is more aggressive), and then top it with NXT 2.0. #80/#83 is a paint cleaner/polish combo that really is a powerhouse to correct paint. Of course, it does help if you have some type of DA polisher to do the most effective work.
If you just keep up with it your car will look great!

my STi scratched easily, my Lexus, Audi and MB don't. All black cars too. Decided to go with a white xb because i do believe that the less expensive brands don't use as good of a paint
