Not to thread jack, but I have to agree with ae86gts, I just typed in both TRD short throw, AND tried TRD short shifter, and the only ones that popped up on the first page that were remotely close to discussions about short throws were this topic, and one for the tC. "SEARCH" doesn't always work worth a damn for me either, and I do use it.

button (NEVER use the "type search here" box), then in the top box under "Search Query" type "short throw" (without the quotation marks). Under "Search Options" go to the "Forum:" line and select "--Scion xB 2nd-Gen Drivetrain & Power" from the drop-down list. Ignore all the other boxes and click on "Search" at the bottom. If you always stick to this method, using only these two boxes on the
page, you will have much better luck. It actually works really well once you have it mastered. I hope this helps.
The idea behind a quick shifter is that it reduces the distance that the handle at the top of the shift lever needs to move (through different angles, leverage, pivot point locations, etc.) to accomplish the shift... hence the slang name "short shifter". It means a shorter "throw" to make the shift; it doesn't have anything to do with the length of the shift lever.
^^umm yea I know what the terms mean but TRD Quick Shifter is called that for a reason..not short shifter like the TWM stage 2 that I have. Thats why that is an improper slang term..I dont even think thats a term for the TRD shifter. TRD is same height as the stock shifter but it just shifts around 30% faster. Thats why they call it Quick Shifter not Short Shifter.
