Default Shorted my car.. help please!!

I installed some aftermarket foglights and attempted to wire them so that they'd turn on with my parking lights. Guess I had no idea what I was doing. At one point connecting those two things together made one side of my mirror's blinker go on, and then eventually shorted the whole thing after.

Simply said, my parking (amber) and tail lights won't turn on anymore. They do however, flash when I de/activate my aftermarket alarm system.

Can someone tell me how to get them working again? I checked the fuse box but can't completely understand the abbreviations except for the super obvious ones. I can't locate the ones pertaining to my parking and tail lights.

Anyone wanna save my life? It'd mean the world to me, thanks!!!

do your dash lights still work? do your headlights still come on, without the marker lights? if your dash lights don't work and your HL's do, you probably shorted out the dimmer switch (for your dash lights). i've had that happen in another vehicle...

yeah sounds like you blew a fuse.. since your alarm will flash them and your switch won't.. the fuse that is for your parking lights is blown.. just get a multimeter *or owner's manual* and check all your fuses.. now you know for any electrical work it pays to have a good multimeter to check for blown fuses and anything else electrical

It's a fuse that's blown. Check under the hood and under the driver's side dash.

Thanks EVERYone, for you helpful suggestions. Turns out it was just a simple matter of locating the parking light fuse, then changing it out with a spare. Everything's fine and dandy now.

By the way, anyone what kind and where I can find some compatible fuses at a good price for back ups in the future?

Thanks again!!

autozone or advanced auto parts is a good place to look...fuses are just fuses
