Default Snows

I'm going to order some Blizzak LM-22's for the xB2 (on steelies) this winter. I'm wondering what size I should go with. I'm thinking maybe a 225/50 so that I got a wider track but about the same profile as the stock 205/55. I'm also thinking about resale value as 225/50's are more common on domestic (Gran Prix, Gran Am, etc.) and the 205's fit more on the import side (Honduhs, and other small coupes.)

So 205 or 225?

if you are planning on selling them in the spring...you are probably better off leaving them at 205/55-16. It's an extremely popular size, and shouldn't have a hard time selling them. Also, larger size tires could throw off your odometer/speedometer.

I work at a local tire shop. I get them at cost all day long, so when I put my 18's back on in the spring I'll sell the snows to pay for the 18's. Runs me about $75 every 6 months to run brand new tires. Plus I'm having my KMC's re-finished this winter, so the money from selling the used 18's will go towards that.

Yes, narrow is better in snow, less white stuff to "plow" through. Go with the OEM size. Tire rack even recommends a 195mm tire as a possibility as well.

If you are going to use them for just one winter, why not get something more affordable like Winterforce? They perform just as well and are 25% cheaper. I'm running 205/60/16 for winter.
