SL is a great site! As long as you don't have an original idea or think outside the box, of course. The site is mostly just a tool to find how to's and new ideas. Sharing your creativity is a big no-no.

 

Dude, you own a white xb? Me too, but an 09. I hate to admit it, but the xa community seemed very open about there cars, mods and info. The xb2 crowd seems rather quiet, too quiet.

Yeah, all forums have their quarks and egos get inthe way. As a 32 year old balding fat guy, nothing bothers me. You can have fun and share or be a stuck up 18 year old going on 50 online.

Exactly, there's a place for it. Use the space provided. Pretty simple and it keeps the forums clean. Not to mention, not everyone wants to have someone's music ads shoved in their face. That's why I stopped using MySpace - I got tired of lame musicians who thought they were God's Next Big Thing spamming my mail, leaving messages, begging for attention. Which is what this guy is doing - begging for attention even as the door is hitting him on the way out. I know musicians want to get their music out, but it's all a fantastic way to turn people OFF your music.

So the whole whining "sharing your creativity is a big no-no"... seriously. Look around you. People are sharing their ideas, asking questions, sometimes getting answers (sometimes people don't HAVE the answers and it always amazes me when people whine about it), posting pics of what they've done, sketches of what they'd like to do...

So, um, yeah. Theory negated. Fully.

If they dude REALLY wanted to be involved in creative music and relate it to Scion, why didn't he offer his services to a dealership or event? Start a new thread in the Off Topic area to share music files? Not hard, doesn't bother people who don't want to be advertised to, explores music marketing in a creative way... Spamming is NOT creative. Spamming is old news and always will be.

 

Sorry, I should have specified... I don't give a rats a$$ about him getting flamed for spamming about music. my reply had nothing to do with that. I have my reasons for what I said and don't need to explain the details. Sorry for the thread jack. Just seeing the true nature (once again) of SL douches forced me to comment yesterday.

No, not for disagreeing, everyone is entitled. Just the general stuck up, "my stuff's better than yours", close minded attitude that a lot of the people on here have. And I'm not saying everyone mind you. But there are a LOT of douches on here. This is not a supportive environment/community. That's why I don't post anymore. I just come to see what's new.

So people having a since of pride in their cars that they spend lots of money and time on makes them stuck up? or is it they have pride and their opinion on what they like makes them stuck up? or is it your perception on how they should act that make them stuck up? or is it the fact that you call people names that make THEM stuck up??? I call it how i see it and if you dont like me then good... IMO this community is very supportive and quite positive... In every group their will will be some bad seeds, but that happens everywhere...
