Default Speed Racer Overhaul? Y/N???

so i'm a DIE HARD speed racer fan, and im hard up to turn my xB2 into the Mach 5. i KNOW that it doesnt even look remotely close, but i figure that doesnt really matter, seeing as most people would be baffled just seeing one. lolz i also feel like if i had a miata or solstice it would seem like im trying to actually REPLICATE the car, which would look worse than if i had a car that is far off to begin with.

what i want to know is how much would i be talking to get a complete overhaul?

basically, this:

exterior:
white paint job, the obvious decals, new rims, spoiler, and possibly redoing the headlights/tail lights

interior:
red cloth all around, with yellow accents in the seating. (this includes the floor and ceiling as well), red dash, redone dash accessories, new rear view mirror, monitor of some sort (the mach 5 had one, i have to have one!), steering wheel, doors, etc.

i know its going to be more expensive than i can imagine, but i was hoping there may be someone who knows roughly how much just as a ball park figure, so that maybe one day i can go ahead and do it!

thank you!

well, considering im NOT asking if its a good idea, i asked HOW MUCH it would cost.

theres many things in life more important than giving a crap what others think, and this is one of them to me.

its great you hate the idea, but i LOVE the idea, so either offer something helpful, or just leave the idea alone ugh.

couldn't help ya on the cost etimate, really would depend on how much you do yourself vs. pay to have done.

Do it. Then laugh at the haters

haha thanks

im one of those people that has NO problem paying to have it done professionally. through trial and error, i have come to realize its not in the cards for me to attempt this kind of stuff, so i dont mind paying the extra amount to have it done.

Well, let's stop bashing the poor guy.

Let's try and break it down. Start with exterior.

New paint job. Guess you have to get it all custom done with a white base and then graphics and details over it? With the custom work, that would put you up over $2,000 for sure, depending on where you get it done.

Larger rims for intermediate purposes are probably $140 a pop give or take. Plus you'll want some rubberband tires on those suckers, so let's say 600 or so for four tires.

Spoiler: eBay that sucker for $120 flat. Forget the OEM one. You're putting too much money in the car to go legit.

Interior is a whole different story for me. I wouldn't know where to begin on that.

Basically you could very well be spending over $10,000 on this modification because it's custom. Are you sure you want to go that route? It's over half the cost of the vehicle itself.

up to 3.5k for paint job. depending on rims another 1-2k .. with some search with good deals .. ii think you can get it done with 10k including quality parts such as these red nd yellow stitching momo bucket seats

doesnt hurt to imagine esp. if you have the money for it lol

Absolutely. And look! That seat doesn't have an armrest!

But yeah, the cost is really up there. I'd suggest that, since you are going for a high-end conversion to replicate the speed racer look, you go for quality. So if you're going to do your interior, make sure to do it right. You're definitely going to want to get some sweet bucket seats. Maybe have a fiberglass guy custom a dash for you and a functional armrest/compartment.

The possibilities are limitless when you have the speed to take that drive (pardon the pun)! Afterall, you have Forjworks working on a sweet mafia conversion body kit? Possibilities are limitless.

@xD_kidd91: Sorry bro. There will be no silver wheels on that slammed mafia box. Jet black or borderline matte black. Period. There is no silver lining (pun intended). jk. It'd look good with some silver accents, but the rims def need to be black.

We may be different, but what is Scion's slogan again???

United by individuality.

I think that slogan right there just solves EVERY single dispute we ever have on these forums. One can dream.

@alfundo: That would be pretty sweet, too!

I think a lot of people here dream about converting the xB2 to a Transformer. I'd love to do that with mine. Sort of.
