That can't be a longer nose. Just look at the wheel well, there would be a more even gap.

yeah--that gap looks enormous--I don't think that body has anything to do with the chasis--just thrown on.

I have nothing against minivans and would get one if I wanted one but that is not where I am looking right now. I like crossover vehicles where it drives like a car but has space. My wife has a Buick Rendevous. People won't buy one because they think Buicks are for older people and its not the best looking from the outside but it has amazing space inside and rides like a car with decent gas milage (20/26) for its size. Buying one of those shows I buy based on what works for me not based on what others will think of me.

I don't care what others think. I am not concerned about that. I buy based on what I like. Sometimes its in style and sometimes its not.

I tried an Element and the ride is very poor. I test drove an xb and the ride was awesome. My wife thought it was a little small and does not like the box. I like the box because of all the room inside and I like the look.

A little bigger helps with getting a bike in the back when I am by myself and with transporting my wife and daughter and pets.

I also like the pricing of the Scions. I really like the quality of Toyota and the drive of the xb and its space. A little bigger to me does not make it a mini-van. Its a scion and is aimed at a different group then minivans.

For that matter, I have heard people call black xbs hearsts and while ones, milk trucks. The point is there will always be people who do not like what it looks like.

They key for me is function and price. I am looking forward to what comes next. I like my brother's xb and expect scion to take the next one to another level.

maybe part of the reason to increase the size is to catch additional buyers like myself that were on the fence with the first generation. The key is to expand the fan base without upsetting the original loyal gen1 fan base.

Gen2 is where the scion execs will earn their money. How can they keep this fresh and growing without screwing up what they started.

the xB's replacement will be a huge loss in comparison to the HUGE surprise hit of the xB.

Some of you respond like you know more then the average person. Is that because you work for Toyota or know someone that does or are you just making an educated guess on what will show up next based on the facts that have been released.

Some people here have seen the next xB, but are not allowed to talk about it. I've seen it, and all I can say is hotbox05 is right on the money

How did you see it ? Do you work for them or do live near the plant or what ? I guess you can not say much about it but I guess you could say why you know so much.

I am taking from your comments that you are not a fan of the car. Why do you think they went with this approach over the xB or the gen2 bB ?

I don't think anyone can really know the reasoning behind any of Toyota's decisions; It's all speculation. I do know that they have been doing plenty of market research (Including select focus groups, which was where I was able to see the next xB).

IMO, I don't like it, but that doesn't mean anything, really. I'm sure lots of people will love it, and it has the potential to be a huge seller.

If the xB replacement gets the same gas mileage city and highway I think it will do OK. Toyota probably believes people will pay more for a slightly larger car and have a little higher margin.

The margin on sales was about the only negative in the last quarterly report.

the xB's replacemnt will get much less mpg than it does now. well at least 3 mpg less.

and i do work for toyota about 90% of the time. i do toyota promotions (product specialist) across the entire western united states.

either way, i'll bet dollars to doughnuts that a sliding door on one side (ala t2B) would be one of the biggest mistakes possible

That would just make it a tiny van, and nobody likes vans.

will the replacement use the suicide doors on one side and a sliding door on the other or will the production car go back to four doors like an xb or suicide doors on both sides like an element

Default Current xB production stops in December...

...but will it still be available for sale up until the replacement comes to the showroom (I'm thinking March-April-ish)??? I want to be able to act AT THE RIGHT TIME if I don't like the news I hear on the replacement before I caN'T get my hands on CURRENT gen! (Blue Onyx, then I come!)

I'm sitting on the fence on the current xB because it does not offer moonroof (OK, maybe the a-little-bit-on-the-pokiness-side too). Those in the know, do you know if the xB replacement in Spring 2007 gonna definitely have a moonroof/sunroof made available? (PLEASE Scion, make moonroof/sunroof available, PLEASE!!!!! And keep the price close to the 1st gen too please!)

And let's keep this thread going with credible news on the replacement OK everyone?!!
