Default Hot engine coolant smell? ME too!!

OMG so many people with the same issue, weird hot smell that could be coolant but isn't. hmmmm is the engine bay too hot or is it something really weird?

I used a ZIO MOD to solve this issue, bringing the engine bay temp down. and the smell went with it.

Try taking it to an independent garage and have the oil checked for traces of coolant. A leaking intake manifold gasket can suck coolant into an oil passage and it ends up in the crank case. The smell indicates some could be getting in the cyl, too.

Are these problems happening with the 2nd Gen xB '08 ?

I hope that the '09 2nd Gen xB does not have any of these problems. I had an '05 xB and it until the guy T-boned it But I've been looking at the '09 2nd Gen xB and I just test drove one this past wekend and I really like it too. I hope these problems do not continue with the '09 2nd Gen xB!!!
