What lead me to thinking about trading an 08 for an 11 is?

Problem is I have a vibraton(rattle ) noise that just started at about 79 mph plus coming from the rear(sounds like rear passenger side). Don't hear it at speeds under 79 mph, lol. I took the pass side rear corner interior covers off over wheel well, removed plastic cover on rear door, removed subwoofer installed in corner, spare tire, jack, jack handle, etc. took it all out of car and it still has the rattling(vibrating) noise. So i'm pretty sure now the noise is coming from outside the car. I checked rear spoiler, banged on outside sheet metal, can't find it.

I interstate drive the car a bunch and run about 79 - 80 mph, with my Valentine 1, speed limit is 70 mph.

Going to do some more checking. You guys are right, I'm not gaining anything by trading to an 11.

If I can't figure out vibration, Better idea, buy a new 10 sitting on a dealer's lot with a good deal and swap all my parts to it? Hopefully I'll figure it out.
Try the headliner?

Mostly heresay I'll admit. The front bumper definitly, the rear definitly, the headlights definitly do look to have a change, the fenders if you really examine them do appear to be different, and the hood, well its jus what Iv been hearing. More costly for them, hey idk bout that, our cars are basically tinfoil and plastic. I guess to know for a fact one would have to ask someone at Toyota/Scion, granted they even know cuz most of the time you cant count on them for anything like that...

Changing the sheet metal is expensive if non-critical for the facelift, due to the cost of the engineering, stampers, and immediate dual inventory stocking. I'll honestly be very surprised if there are any sheet metal changes for a facelift car that has been traditionally RS'd through fascia and such -- as you said, the plastic parts. Logically, they'd avoid sheet metal changes until it's time to release the actual Gen3 -- which hasn't happened yet. I've looked at photos of the 2011 hood and fender and don't see any differences, so looks like I'll be needing to see different part numbers for them before I can believe.

PS. Here are the part numbers for the pre-2011 (I'm guessing also for the 2011):

53301‑12A90 Hood Assembly
53812‑12B30 Left Front Fender Assembly (replaced by -12B31)
53811‑12B30 Right Front Fender Assembly (replaced by -12B31)

PPS. Here's a comparative description with photos -- the hood and fenders really do look the same to me.

Also articles with photos at the same front angle of both cars:

I use the car mostly for working on projects out of town. But at home i also use it as my daily driver, its fun to drive. I got lots of room to haul stuff inside when I work out of town for a period of time plus I need something that is good in the snow. I try to avoid the snow, but sometimes I can't turn down the extra money to work in the cold. It has been a good car so far, no problems and I drive the ***** out of it. lol I bought the car when I was working in Minnesota, now I'm working along the coast of NC and live in GA. Travel home to GA once a month.

What other cars/suv type do you suggest? I need a vehicle with a roomy interior and decent power and mpg. No hybrids, to slow. Thanks
