I know this may seem odd but we just bought a trailer that weights about 1500 pounds and we were wondering if the new xb could tow it.It wouldn't be the primary vehicle as my 07 Tacoma could do the job but my older brother is getting an 08 xb and we were wondering if it could tow it also.I tried the website and searched but came up with nothing in my quick over view.

 

I would guess that it's not recommended. You'd have to wait until someone gets an owner's manual though I bet...

That doesn't mean you absolutely couldn't do it, but the excess wear and tear might cause you problems.

That's lame! i've often found that they don't tell people but they know regardless.Besides the Tacoma having a frame and the xb being a unibody everything else is pretty much on par with my truck.They have pictures on there website of a new beetle towing one so I'd assume baring the bug being a diesel the new xb should be able to do it but it would be nice to have a number.
