Default What does this mean???

On the dash the ABS, BRAKE, VCS, and traction light are all on all the time. What does this mean? How much am I looking at to get it fixed? With all of that on I have no ABS or traction control (and it's a lil fun). Sorry for the phone pic.

Is it accompanied with a CEL? It's hard to tell exactly what it is unless you get it scanned for error codes with an OBDII reader, you can get it scanned for error codes at an automotive store like Autozone for free.

There is no check engine light so I don't think that any codes have been thrown. Otherwise I'd have the CEL as well.

Either you have turned those functions off using the VSC/Trac button, or they're truly malfunctioning, in which case, it's time to give Scion a call.

I would say that is possible but there is no way possible to disable the abs. If I push the traction button nothing happens.

that probably means your wheel speed sensors aren't working. if the car doesn't know the wheel speed, the ABS and traction control can't work at all.

is this for real? it just looks like the test sequence when you start your car up.

oh, and the "brake" light means your parking brake is on.

^^^Darn, you beat me to it. VSC (Vehicle Stability Conltrol) and the ABS will almost always come on together if not always. Brake is the brake handle or a low fluid condition. Have you done brake work? Are all the sensors plugged in? If it is ABS related, a simple OBDII scan may not pick it up because most mfg's have the ABS in a different module and standard OBDII will not read it. Since no other data was given, I would ask how many miles on it? Did you do brake work and leave something unplugged? Have you checked the brake fluid level?

It only has 42k on it. No work has ever been done to the brakes. The fluid level is fine and no the handle isn't pulled. If you have the handle pulled while driving it beeps at you so I'd know if it were that simple. No work has been done on the car that would require any fuses or anything under the hood to be messed with. I'm not liking what my results are looking like.

I know I should have bought a domestic! This 3yr/36k warranty is BS!!

Normally, when you turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position there are four lights that stay on. Two turn off when you start the engine, the others turn off when you release the hand brake and fasten your seat belt. This is why draxcaliber asked his question. You should fasten your seat belt and take a picture of the entire dash gauge panel while your engine is running.

That pic was taken with the engine running and NO i refuse to wear my belt. Like I said in my earlier post, do i need to take a vid of me flying down the highway with all of those lights on. Due to them being on i have no ABS which means I lock up all 4 when I hit the brakes, and also I have no traction control, just spin the tires when I want. I thought that with all the info I have given that I have made it pretty clear on what the problem is. Now I just need/hope someone that knows what the hell they are talking about finds this thread. With the winters in Michigan coming up this will be a death trap to drive.

Good thing you refuse to wear a seat belt.

hahahaha, yeah, domestic...they're...still in business... anyway. it is time to get the car checked out. warning lights are on. a few things you can do yourself is check the fuses to see if you simply blew one or two or whatever. next step would be to visit your friendly neighborhood toyota/scion service department. as for the brake light, check your pads make sure they aren't worn down. at 42 k, you might be due for a new set.

It seems to me that you are taking out your frustrations on the people that have given suggestions to solve the problem.

You should take it in to the dealership.

you know whats even funnier, i bet your owner's manual tells you what to do when those lights come on too. though it might just say "take car in for service at a dealership. anyway, ABS is a good safety device, traction control, meh, i've done just fine all this time without it.

I came here to the forums to see if anyone has ever run into the problem before. Thanks for the suggestions, but all of that has been looked at. I know that it will have to go to the dealer, but I was hoping that someone had run into this before.

ABS is something I've never had before the xB2 and I'm not clear I've ever needed. However, I'm not obecting to it ! My experience has been to work the brakes myself, not just slam them on.

PS. If your ABS light is remaining on, then something is wrong. Take it to the dealer.
