what leds/resistors?

What are you guys and gals using? I have seen on here a place that sells leds but IF I wanted to go out to my local radio shack, what leds or resistors have you used SUCCESSFULLY?

I got the LED's for my dash cluster to change from ugly amber to blue and blue led's for my map and dome lights off Ebay.

The lights in the guages are PLCC-2 from what I've been able to figure out. I haven't had mine apart to see how many u need though.
