After a year of owning my car I finally decided I've got to get some rims. I went with 20's + Falken Tires, and of course the Tanabe NF210's. Believe it or not the ride in incredibly smooth. The only time it ever rubs is if you go over a bump or pothole....but that can be avoided by slowing down unless your on the freeway. hahha.

Here are two more pics that I took during the day. Personally I think the wheels look great. Honestly no other color goes wheel with HTM and thats why I chose chrome.

 

Sorry but the wheels look terrible (chrome = ) & Hypnotic Teal still looks bad on the xb2.

 

Chrome with any color is ugly imo, at least on the xB2.

I don't know what it is with people and the hate for teal...okay, actually I disliked the color at first. It doesn't have any depth to it and can look very flat if you don't keep it polished up. If they'd put more mica glint in it, it would have been an AMAZING color. But its way different than the other colors and its a color few people have. Silver, blue, white, black = boooorrrriiiinnngggg unless you spruce them up and everyone and their mom has Super White and Black Cherry. I was actually mad when I saw another HTM wandering around SoKC the other day.

But yeah, it's very hard to find good rims for the xB. I can't see his rims to judge (for some reasons the pics aren't coming up for me). Too much chrome can look a little weird, white can look too stark, gold looks odd, red is disgusting, gunmetal looks silly to me, black just blends into the tires... and don't even get me started on accessorizing in a color scheme. You either have to custom color match or choose a color in the same family. But in the right light, teals look very pretty and very unique. Scions are supposed to be unique, btw.

Can't wait to get to a normal 'puter and see your rims! I think I've found the shoes of my dreams and I'll have to post once I get them!

 

from one of the close up shots u did of the tire the paint looks like a metallic is it??? i always thought it was just a solid teal. if its metallic i bet the color would look pretty sweet in just the right light preferably sunset around the beach.

I sorta like the color, but the rims...no.

 

Lol believe it or not its not a solid color, its got a hint of metallic flakes all over the place. HTM is one of those colors where it has to be in the right light to really show off its true color. I personally really like my "new" ride and I've gotten a lot of complements from people.

 

The color isn't bad... but I am just not feeling the wheels at all (i'm with the anti-chrome people). The stance looks good though. Just not feeling the chrome. But that's why I'm not rollin them. If you like them, more power... enjoy!

 

love the color (obviously) but dont like the chrome.. no offense just never liked chrome wheels.. polished lip is cool but not into the bling bling..

 

You can't read . I said I don't like it on the xb2, I never said I didn't like the color. It looks good on the camry though.

 

i've seen HTM at a beach " santa monica " during sunset w/chrome rims looks great. but if the lighting is off then it just looks ok just like mines. still i would prefer other color instead of chrome rims or you can look for a powder coating shop and help you repaint the rims. last time i've check runs $20 per rim w/lifetime warranty. well i dont think you should worry about people dislike your car as long as it turn out the way you wants it.

Its actually not a bad color but those wheels are ugly. Sorry man but you obviously like them so enjoy.

I think the rims looks good, but not on that color car. And I'm not a huge fan of chrome.
