Default Window tint turning purple?

I've noticed that the tint on my front driver and passenger windows is turning purple. WTF! With each passing day it matches the rest of my factory tint less and less. I had the tint done a a "reputable" shop that been in business for years. I wonder if I can get them to replace it for free or at a discount?

reputable shops give you a lifetime warranty to deal with issues such as that.

All the shops I've been to offer a lifetime warranty on cracking or bubbling, but not fading. The trick is to pick the kind that don't fade purple but just fade lighter black.

Not sure what your cleaning the windows with but with tints they require cleaning with NON amonia products. So no Windex etc. Either clean with soap and hot water or buy a specific window cleaning product that is amonia free. Also, over time cheap tint adhesive will turn purple.

This is why they make window cleaner for tinted windows, your tinted HAD to have told you this..... Your basically screwed now, best thing would be to take it off cuz it probably looks rediculous and get it redone, and go out and get tint safe cleaner..

Nope, I never use Windex. Actually I almost never clean my windows. If I do, I just use a wet paper towel.

Must have been some cheaper brand tint if you didn't use Windex. I think Suntek is guaranteed not to fade.

Tint that turns purple normally uses carbon based dyes/pigments. Sunlight (over time) give it's that classic old tint purple look. Chemicals, like Windex, do the same thing. I just use soap and water with a microfiber towel. tough spots get the tried and true lick the finger and rub treatment. Your tint should still be under warranty, but may not be covered. If the warranty states what not to use on it and you did use it, you're out of luck. Warranty covers manufacture's defects. But, even if you did cause the damage, speak nicely to the manager and they may give you a discount. And go for the newer nano-technology films: they hold up better and give better UV/IR protection.
