Every place I have ordered from and searched says it is a different water pump. I even checked ebay, autozone and a million other places and I keep getting the wrong part. Why is mine different?

They dnt all look exactly the same. The bolt holes appear to be in the same location.

 

huh? And no the bolt holes are "kinda" close, but when attempt to put it in they wont line up at all. Look at the extra space around my pump compared to whats called for. The one on ebay is much larger of a area where mine is smaller.

 

Well some of the bolt locations look the same. Hate to say this but maybe u gotta go OEM

 

Yea thats what I am doing now, but I just understand how everywhere has it in correct. I am afraid I get to toyota and they don't have it either. Taking the original part in just still doesn't make sense to me how this could happen.

 

I know u said you checked a lot of places but did u check rockauto.com?

 

I haven't but getting stuff online is out of the question at this point because my car is completely torn apart. So I need it back asap. I will check to see what they bring up however.

 

I got mine at pepboys I believe. Fit perfectly. Was for a tc but it's the same engine. Could he ask for a water pump for a tc since they both have the 2az?

Never cheap out on a waterpump, go oem.

 

I didn't cheap out, its just no one would give me the correct pump.

 

Did you go to a toyota dealer?

 

just because it didnt come from the stealership doesnt mean its "cheaping out". their design was flawed from the get-go.

 

If its not an oem replacement, its cheaping out imo. I use to do it all the time until I realized going oem would have saved me more by not having to replace so often. And they fixed the design issue btw.

 

its funny how people STILL don't realize that TOYOTA doesn't make its own parts. last water pump i handed out which was around 2 today didn't have a toyota stamp on it.....

 

My dad delivers for ups to a buncha car dealerships and they get AutoZone/advance auto parts all the time for cars in the shop

If cheaping out is going to autozone and getting a lifetime warranty on a water pump(which I don't understand) for half price then call me cheap

Lifetime warranty is only good for the lifetime of the part, so if it goes bad that was the lifetime of the part... that's how manufacturers get around replacing things

 

Autozone sells garbage replacement parts. Brake pads, alternators, shocks, tie rods, sensors all fail premature from personal experience. There is no way im putting a vatozone waterpump on my car.

They are good for fluids and wipers.

 

I have used autozone for a long time never really ran into many problems.
