Default xB ASC and front weel drive works well snow/ice.

During a winter storm coming down from Pigeon Forge Tn. It normally takes about an hour to drive home but on this day it took two and a half hours.

On the way back all kinds of rear wheel drive vehicles especially pick up trucks kept sliding off the roads,It was a hair raising experience that I hope not to repeat anytime soon.

Bottom line my xB 2nd gen got me home !

New here today. New xB owner (one week tomorrow). Question: Do the grills for the 2008/9 fit the 2010? Anyone with an opinion on E & G classics grills?

*unnecessary quote*

I'm glad you got home safely, but where on earth is the 3rd Gen stuff coming from? When was it released and what is the difference between it and the 2nd Gen introduced in April 2007. Where can I read about it? (Latest release I'm aware of is the RS 7.0 and that's still 2nd Gen.)

Please keep off topic posts out. You can find this answer by searching and/or creating a new thread. I see you are new, pm me if you need more help.

*grilles should mix and match no problem*

Back on topic.... I was very pleased with my B in the ice & snow. I did all I could to get the tires to spin, but it just took over and would not let that happen. The ABS worked really well too. I would recommend it to anyone that fears snow & ice. Made the drive much safer.

Since learning the "Trac"tion system doesn't have any affect on single wheel slipping when the vehicle is trying to start moving on ice, I've been wondering about my interpretation of the xB2 as a good winter vehicle. I'm wondering just how desirable the LSD mod really is. I get the impression it may be critical for getting underway in icy conditions.
