Default Advice on some new DF210's

hey guys.

I just recently purchased the silver 08 xB on 10/27/07, Loving the little guy and also im a noob with car mods. I already got limo and picked up some DF210's today. What i was wondering was if i install the DF210's what is most likely to wear out ? Struts? Im a noob to this moding cars, always read about cars never really worked on them. I am asking because i want to be able to keep my warranty (eg putting back the stock springs when i bring them back to the dealer) without making it obvious i had aftermarket springs.

Much Thanks for the help guys.

congrats on ur new buy! I also have a HTM xb with df springs.

WHen it comes to springs, the first and foremost thing that's gunna wear out are the shocks. Since the drop is about 2 inches around, It will put stress on the shocks.

Fear not though, I do believe KYB will be making shocks for our cars since Corolla Rumion was realeased.

I do believe other compaies will make aftermarket shocks too.

As bb_ist said, the shocks will wear out prematurely. They are designed with spring height in mind, and now the spring they will be working with will be ~2" shorter.

Not a big deal, i would think you could still get 15k-30k out of em. They are completely reversible (springs). You can always have some shocks installed later.

Thanks for the reply guys!
Yea i love my new xB, at first i hated it, shunned it off and was about to buy a prius. Now i love the little guy!.

So you guys think the stock shocks will run out around 15 to 30,000? so when they do go out, and i replace the DF's springs with the stock springs, You think the dealership will notice? i just don't want to lose my warranty.

Another noob question shocks, im not sure if the shocks are covered by warranty , since they deteriorate with wear and tear...

Also, Lawrider , sorry if i sound dumb, but what do you mean by" They are completely reversible (springs)"

once again thanks for the responses guys!

For them to not cover something under warranty, they'd have to prove that the springs were the cause of the problem.

Thanks for the reply ScionXTC.

So you think if my shocks start to give, and i change my springs. You think they will know after market springs were in? Also do you think the Shocks are covered by the manufacture warranty?

Once again, thanks for all the input guys.

Yea, i heard alot about KYB's GR-2's on the 1st gen, i know they dont have aftermarket shocks availble yet, but when they do, ill be all over it.

So, do any of you guys know if the shocks are covered in warranty? or is it considered like brake pads/tires? wear and tear stuff that isnt covered>
