Default Front pad replacement questions

Going to change front pads on my 08 with 84K mi on them, this weekend. Before I get into them, just wondering if there is anything special about caliper/ pad removal, or if it is straight forward, with no special tools needed?

The car is used for business travel w a 50/50 hiway/city use. Knowing that, are OEM pads your recommendation as replacements? Never had any problem with them and would have no problems going back with them, unless there is something better with out noise problems.

Thanks for responses and info. Been doing brake jobs for well over 45 years, just don't want any surprises once the wheels are off...tomp dd50

criminaltc, Thanks. A very straight forward repair job. Never had to reuse wear indicators before though. Glad the video showed that little tidbit. tomp dd50

This has so far, the most trouble free car I've ever owned. Same with an 05 TC; except for an alternator bearing going bad, zero problems. tp
