Rattle at rear after TRD Spring install?
Just a quick qustion??? After installing my rear springs... I get a rattle at low speeds going over small bumps. The only thing I can think of that might have gone wrong was that I reverse installed the lower shock mount bolts so that the nut faces inward instead of towards the wheel. Could I also maybe have installed the top spring seat backwards???
Yup.
I developed a rattle that sounded exactly like a broken shock on the right rear last June after I installed TRD springs and rear sway bar. I checked it visually and grabbed and shook everything. nada.
I decided to recheck all the torques on the rear Sway bar install. The lower shock attach bolt tightened almost 1/2 turn and the noise went away. No return of the noise in 10 months.
Be aware that for whatever reason the nut does not turn easily. I torqued it by turning the bolt the second time. Contrary to anything else I have seen but it worked in the end.

Yeah any noise back there after a spring install check the shock bolts. That's really all it could be, unless the spring isn't seated right. But that would probably make it sit uneven in the rear and you'd notice right away.
I installed a rear sway bar, then NF210's later, and last night swapped out for DF210's. I've never had any noises coming from the rear. Plus, anytime I've read about noises in the rear after a suspension mod, it's been those bolts.

another thing to check, when you springs came in they are suppost to have either rubber or some sort of tape looking stuff on the smaller coils up top. this is so when the "soft" coils are maxed out they dont make a clanking metallic sound. if you removed them im sure you could use some old thin walled rubber tubing or something to use on them
