Default xB Bagged Questions/Needs..

Im about to aquire the AirLift digitial and wanting some advice so when it gets here im ready for installation.

The kit was used for a year and contains new front bags, Is there anything additional I would need to look for in regards to wear? Right now my list of parts needed/enchanced are:

- 60ft 1/2" hose (Should I convert to 3/8 fittings and lines?)
- KYB Sienna rear shocks
- Randode rear shock adapters
- 16ga wiring
- Possibly, a second 380c compressor

I am also considering the Randode spherical strut bearing plates, anyone have experience these?

The second part is I want to mount the setup under the car (Noise reduction and no loss of trunk space), Does anybody know if the default 5 gallon tank will fix underneath
(I believe height wise the tank is 12" but I'm concerned about the inflation valve which would stick downwards if I use the default mount brackets) or do I need to go with a "Pancake" type tank?

Also will the compressor(s) and valves be OK under the car?

Any insight would be much appreciated!

If you put the compressor under the car please invest in some water traps.

Hose size is all personal preference do you want it to be loud and fast or quiet and slow? The smaller the hose the slower the air travels from supply to delivery. I use 1/4 myself. Most people find 1/2 to be a little too fast for them from my own personal experience.

You have a lot of room under your car for the tank I wouldn't worry about the dump valve unless you drive around aired out all the time.

when checking the kit for wear you need to look at the bags does it look like they have been rubbing on something? is the rubber cracking or separating from the top and bottom plate if not then you're good to go. Replace all the hose done use one piece from the old instal. Hose is very cheap...If you're looking around for pricing hit me up.

Personally 1 380 has always been enough for my 5 gal.

dont buy airlift digital.. it dont work so well.

I have a 5 gallon tank under my car. everything has been under my car for about 4 years. and still works no problems. it fits but if you dont have a lip kit it will show big time.. If i was us just use a 3 gallon tank.. that more than enough air.

It wont hit the ground if you air down.

I would go 1/4 inch lines.. becuase way easier to install and bend and it wont go hitting so fast.

Here is an air runner i installed under the car.. 5 gallon tank

I like my Digital Easy Street kit.

The 5 gallon tank it comes with probably wont fit under the car, I'd suggest one of the smaller tanks listed above, or the pancake tank.

The 1/2" lines to fill up fast, that's for sure, but it doesn't bother me any. I have my dumps reduced down to 1/8" for that long slow drop. Turns heads better. :D

I currently have the Sienna shocks sitting in my garage but haven't installed them yet cuz I'm waiting on my new lip kit to come in to see if I really need that extra inch in the rear.

I also love my dual compressor set up. From the time it kicks on under 140lbs, it takes about 3 mins to fill back up to 175 where as with just the one compressor it takes about 7 mins.

Current setup till I glass everything in.

Damn that looks nice as he'll ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Sorry u think the air lift digital kit isn't good. I have had it on my car for a year and no probs and i even had the pump under the car. I don't like how u see the whole set up under the car even if it is droped. If u had it like that where I used to live u would have any of it under there in the morning when u wake up cause someone would easily rip it all out lol. I like to be stealth lol.

with a five axis lip you dont see anything under the car. with no lip you see everything. That why we tore off that ugly kenstyle kit and replacedit with a FIve Axis kit.

Also dont know if you ever tryed taking out the set up from under the car when its slammed. IT is easier to rip the set off out from the trunk. Must guys that put it in the trunk will just bolt it down on a piece of wood..

Thanks! It's about to change though. The Kenstyle lip is coming off and going back with the Bomex lip. It's on it's way to me as we speak, just waiting for it to come in.

Ive had tons of issues with my airlift kit! I got one of the early kits and have had the following go wrong:
Wiring diagram for dual compressors is wrong in the instructions I got.

Pen hole leak in front bag. (airlift sent replacement bellow)

Front struts knocking (airlift sent rebuild/shim kit to try and quiet them down)

Front struts top bushing failure which was the cause of the noise. (airlift sent replacement strut assemblies)

Digital controller failed...required tow (airlift sent new controller)

Finally, one of my compressors has failed causing 60amp fuses to blow and not fill the tank. (airlift sent new compressor)

All of these issues happened within 90 days of installing the kit the first time. That all said, airlift has been pretty good about the situation, not the best service in the industry but not chassis tech/airbagit.com bad either.

OP why not put it under the floor inside the spare tire area? Its not that loud with the radio on and windows down.

Couple pics of ish in the spare area

RU still running it..

We had all the same issues. they will send you new parts but its the same problem everytime.. WE had to tow the shop car also and they never covered the towing for there parts failing nor did they cover the labor.

There bushing at the top rips and when you turn it leaks down.

There controler is worthless toy. if you ever used a Acuair or dakota digital leveing system ... this air lift stuffs dont even work right. The Air Lift does all kinds of funky stuffs and the same thing happend to our shop cars it thing fried..

Many other kits that are way way way better. DOnt waste your time with AIR LIFT.

Tank is a UAS slim 5 gallon. I typically run 70psi in the front struts and 38psi in the rear bags at driving height.

Ricersux, that is a SICK set-up....
I don't know why more people don't use the hard lines. It looks so clean..... When I am ready to BAG, I will be doing a similar set-up as you.

Question?

I know people like the smaller lines for the slow adjustment. I like that as well. Does anyone know if these lines can be steel braided for protection? Or even just run hard line to a good mounting point and then switch to a steel braided line to the bag?
