I don't see why it wouldn't work. You could go with a 235/45R17. Give you a little more width and less heighth.

um......what?

He hasn't mentioned any specific wheels, much less a bolt pattern. Unless his OP was edited.

Not sure what you're talking about. Unless I missed something he hasn't listed any specific wheels.

BozzMan is running 17's with 215/55 tires, stock front springs and 1st Gen rear springs:

I'd still go with the 235/45R17's. They're wider and about the same heighth as stock. It's 30mm, approx 1 inch, wider than stock.

Hope it works. It made me lol seeing more edge kids on here. Lol!

225/55/17's will be almost an inch taller than stock and 235/45/17's are about .4" shorter than stock.

225/55-17 is actually almost 2" taller (overall diameter) than stock (1" more radius all the way around)
235/45-17 is actually almost 1/2" taller (overall diameter) than stock (1/4" more radius all the way around)

I think the tire and wheel calculator we all use will help you understand how the changes from stock may or may not work, and what the resultant changes will be:

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp?postId=906

Keep in mind that the stock wheels are 16"x6.5" with +45 offset, and the tires are 205/55x16".

Have fun playing with the calculator/comparer!

Man I screwed up on my calculations. When I used the formula to figure out size specs. I put 17" into my calculator instead of 16" when figuring out the height of the stock size. I do it the old fashioned way. EX: 205 X .55 X 2 divided by 25.4 + rim diameter.

And here I thought it was just that "new math" all the kids are being taught in school.
