Default 18x9 et45 on fronts???

Will this fit WITHOUT any rubbing? I did the rubbing thing for awhile but can't afford to do that anymore. If I threw on a 215/40/18 tire, will I be okay? I plan to move to some Tein coilovers in the near future, will I be able to clear the struts without adding a spacer?

The tires would clear fine, but that width & offset will be pretty close to the suspension. I know willow says he doesn't rub at all, and he's running 17x9 +35, with 225/45 tires, and DF springs.

Maybe somebody who's running something closer can be of more help.

Tirerack has these for the 08 XB that are 18x8.5 et45. That's ONLY 6mm less clearance between the wheel and strut compared to an 18x9 et45. I'm assuming Tirerack has some type of safety margin, so I guess I'd be really close. BUT, if anyone is running something closer, I'd like to know.

is there a benefit to have your wheels that wide? i understand from a looks standpoint, why you would do it, but not perf. wise.

Because I was thinking about getting these... Unfortunately, they only came non-staggered in 18x9 et45. Besides, "fitment" is out... "Neek" is in...

If anyone wants them, they're on Ebay for only $550 BNIB. I called the seller, and they will drill any bolt pattern onto the wheels since they come blank.

Or if you want 19s in non-chrome, you can buy them for $440 brand new!!! That is SOOO cheap!

Don't tell me DoughboyGT's isn't DOPE!!!

Sorry don't mean to thread jack but since I just bought the wifey a RS7 xB I have a question on rims and I couldn't find the answer I was looking for...

Looking at 18" rims for her ride...Will I run into problems with either of the following applications:

~Dropped on TRD springs just an FYI~

18x8.5 +30 offset (This is the one I really question)
or
18x8 +35 offset (I don't think these will be an issue?)

If any of you own an xD I can help you with rims and offsets there ...

I've seen somebody with 18x8 +35 wheels, and 235/40-18 tires, that didn't rub on TRD springs with no load. I suggest going with 225/40 tires to make sure you don't rub with a full load of people & cargo.

For 18x8.5 +30, you're going to have to run some stretched 215/40 tires.

I was hoping you would answer this ...Would I be better with 18X8.5 +48? Or is that too far sunk in? Thanks in advance...

18x8.5 +48 would be fine. The face of the outer wheel lips will be 7/8" closer to the edge of the fenders than the stock steelies. 235/40-18 tires would fit fine with no rubbing at all. Just for comparison, the TRD 19's are 19x8 +48, rolling on 235/35 tires.
