Default 19x8.5-19x9.5 Offset Questions

I am a newbie here and am in the process of evaluating wheel options. The wheels I like are 19x8.5 Front/19x9.5 Rear with a 38 offset?!?! I notice that most xB's on here run 38 Front and 40-42 Rear. I guess my question is...how will the 38 all around offset look, and will the rear lip still be larger than the front???? If anyone has pictures of their xB's and could include the offset. All of your help would be deeply appreciatted!

Thanks,

Kregg[/img]

Wheels Im planning on getting are 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 in the rear. both +40 offset 235/35 in front and 245/35 in rear. I'm on tanabe NF210 drop and i was told it will fit with no issues The wheel place is also trying to talk me out of staggering too so im re-evaluating my decision. I think is looks really good but Im having seconds thoughts now

Here's what NoLimitzInd is running:

Concept One Wheels, 19x8.5 front +38 offest, 19x9.5 Rear +38 offset, , Hankook V104 Tires, 235-35-19 front, 245-35-19 rear

I don't think his fenders are rolled, but I'm not sure if he rubs. Keep in mind that he is also on Ksport coilovers.

Personally, I don't own a tc. but my own opinion is not to stagger the wheels unless you have a RWD drive car. Not only does it look uneven, but you can't rotate the tires, therefore having to buy new ones much much sooner (and 19" tires are +200 each) but i have my opinions and you guys have yours and we're all entitled to one.

It is soooooo strange that the only time I've heard anything about having to 'roll fenders' is when I contact Axis theselves for questions. I will post the answer I got?!?

From Axis:

+35 front and +40 rear. Rear needs fender rolling and or cutting to fit. 19x8.5 fit all the way around no problem.

I'm staring to think maybe i should just do 19x8.5 all around?!? I don't want to slam the car...TRD springs are as aggressive as I want to go. Man, I thought there were countless staggered applications that would not rub if you were just going with TRD springs. Are there 18 inch staggered options????

Remember offset play a part in it too. Im having 2nd thoughts about staggering 19's but if I do, I gonna go with F 9x8.5 and R 19x9.5 both rims were +40 offset and the shop said as long as I stay 225 / 245 on tires I should be good. Im also on NF drop which is a bit lower than TRD's.

Dude I have 19's on my tC and if I had it to do all over again I wouldn't. Go with 18's or 20's. My tires are $240 each. That is a lot of jack for one dang tire.

Yes I am running a a 19x8.5 with a +38 up front and have no rubbing up there unless I hit a hard bump or big dip. Then it only hits the plastic inside. The rear I am running a 19x9.5 with a +38 and it does rub alittle. I have rolled the rear fenders for sure. It is not a big deal at all. I am pretty low for being on such wide wheels though too.

Got a price quote on some 19's axis decades yesterday for a staggered setup. the guy said that they will need to shave about 3-6 mm off the plastic cover in the rear fenders for em to not rub.

If you click on his user name it will take you to his profile, where all the info and specs on his xB mods are listed.

Personally I believe that MOST people are too afraid of low offset. But then again, most poeple don't like wide wheels and stretched tires. I've always been a fan of VIP style cars and I've had my experience with low offset and stretched tires.

For the Scion I'd probably go with 19x9.5 +15 front and 19x10 +10 rear. Probably with 245/35/19 for all corners.

If you're running 19x9.5 all around, and you want to be conservative, sure, go with high +45. But your rear wheels will be sunk in as fawk.
