best set up?
looking at some 18" for my sw
i had 18x8 45mm with 225/40/18 before but would love to go much wider to help put down the power with boost
currently daily driving at 300whp but will be raising boost mid next year and hopefully starting Feb want to start time attack tracking my box.
I'm on hotchkis springs now but want to go coil overs soon, either stay same or a lil lower.
Id love to put 245/40/18 on the box
I was looking at 18x9 35mm or 45mm
or
18x8.5 30mm or 35mm or 48mm
would the 18x9 work??

You may be able to run 245/35R18's, 245's are pretty wide. 9's should fit with the 45mm offset. Probably have to roll the fronts and rear a little.
I'm not good with beefy tire fitment.

Yep. Those wheels will fit without a problem, pending on how low you want to go.
I was running the TRD 19's with the 235/35R19's on Hotchkis springs for about a year. Rubbed my front fender liners and the subframe a little bit at full turn lock.
Are you looking to increase your track width or just wider tires?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I'm pretty sure that the 18x9 +35mm will fit with the 245/40R18 tire. You may be pushing it, but I'm pretty sure they'll fit. I hate not being sure on this, but it's kind of how fitment is on our cars right now. You have to grip and rip, and try something different.
Rears should fit, no problems, maybe just a roll.
Zsanz tried on the 18x9 +15's with 245/45R18's.

That's what I'm leaning towards... Scoop up the wheels, and hit up your craigslist to try to find some decent used tires in the appropriate size. Give those a whirl prior to spending the cash on some that may not fit correctly. Run the used tires for a little bit and see how everything fits. If everything fits, scoop up some new tires.
I'd still look for tires that run slightly narrow like Achilles.
Also, have you priced these tires? I just did and almost immediately shat myself.
