Default Buying an xB next week...20" rim question. please help.

I'm joining the Scion world and looking forward to it.

I have the opportunity to buy some great 20" rims and tires for a deal and want to make sure they will fit and fit good. my buddy said they might not fit and the ride will be too rough and is trying to talk me down to 18" rims.

What do you guys think..

20x8.5 rims and 245/30/20 tires

I'm not sure on the offset so here is the link: http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse....ShowLarge=True

will that fit ? if so i'm gonna buy them.

whats your opinions on the rough ride ? does having 20's on there make the ride less smooth ? Help a newbie out.

(oldyeller is my uncle he posts alot on this thing. he kinda got me into the scion world)

i think you can get the TRD rims in 19's. So i don't think 20's should be a problem.

based on THIS info, i assume that the 20" fwd application is a +35 offset

those should fit
TRDPaul is currently running 20x8.5 with a +38 offset for his fronts and is not getting any rubbing issues

as for riding on 20s, there is no depreciable ride quality-- just keep an eye on those potholes

Yeah, but is he running 245/30s? The tires seem wide and might rub.

Default How can you know for sure ?

I've heard a couple people say that "they should fit", is there any way of telling for sure ?

Do you guys think its a good idea ? Or to go to a lower size ? For the price I like it, and I like the style...but its hard to tell without them being on the car.

I am running 20x8.5, and I'm not sure what the offset is, but I rub coming off of driveways or going over small pot holes.

The front end is not lowered, just the rear.

ah, i forgot about that part...

245! wow, those are SUV wide
doubt they would fit with the +35 offset, with no modifications

Oh yea, mine are 235's, if you went with a 225 or 230 size tire you would have no problem.
