Default Front: 18x9 +40 - Possible?

I'm just wondering.

I was originally thinking about going staggered, 18x8 +40 front and 18x9 +40 rear.

Would it be OK to run 18x9 +40 on the fronts also. In other words, run 18x9 +40 on ALL 4 wheels.

I was also wondering if 255/35/18 (25.0" dia) tires on ALL wheels would work with this setup also. Any rubbing uses?

What do you think?
I really like the WIDE tire and WIDE wheel LIP look.

Thanks

9" on the front is too wide... 8.5" maximum. 255 tires would also be too wide, even if the wheels fit (which they don't).

Go with the 18x8 +40 fronts with 225/40 tires, and the 18x9 +40 rears with the 255/35-18 tires. This way you will have no problems with rubbing, and you should be able to drop it on whatever springs you want.

I suspected that 18x9 +40 would be way too big for fronts. I wasn't really sure and wanted to confirm. Thanks.

I noticed that 255/35-18 size tire seems to be a little limited in brands or availability. Is it because its more of a a uncommon size? Maybe?

The 225/40-18 seems to usually have more choiced to pick from. Maybe this is more of a comon size...?

Sorry... still a newb here.....

255/35-18 is less common, and what is out there is generally much more expensive than 225/40-18.

If you like the wide lip look, check out the Axis Wide Tracks. You can go with 18x8 +40 standard fronts with a 2" lip, and the 18x8 +40 Maxi rears with a 3-1/4" lip. You get the staggered look, with big fat lips, but you can use 225/40 or even 235/40 tires (which I recommend) all around.

You still won't be able to rotate, but you will have many more tire choices, and they will be much cheaper than 255/35's.

Thanks.

I like the concept of the Widetrack wheels that Axis has. I just don't like the style of that particular wheel. I wish they made the Axis Shine with Widetrack also. I'd be interested in that style.

I also found the R-1 Wheels has thier version of wide lips. It's called MASS Lip.

R-1 has a style very similar to the Axis Shine. It's called R-1 Hype.

Tire rotation would be possible but expensive since the tire has to be physically taken off the wheel and installed again on the front/back wheel.

yah, whether you really stagger or do a mass lip... you will have to pay more eventually down the road. For rotations and tires wearing out. BUT, its hard to beat that look!!
