yeah i went with 18x8 et45 with 225/40x18 tires. the front are as flushed as id want it to be as a daily driver and being slammed. my last 08 xb i ran 15mm (driver side) and 20mm (pass side) spacers in the rear and there pretty flushed as well. the only time i rubbed was with a full load of people in my car with 20mm spacers on both side. thats when i notice the driver side comes out about 5mm more then the pass side. i had my dad machine one down and no more rub. Just keep in mind that the bigger and wider you go with your wheels the loader your road noise. You will be able to put 18x8.5 with no rub if the offset is 45 with 225/40x18 tires. itll have more of a streched look to the tires.
