Default Highlander 17" wheels

Wow, it's pretty dead here. I haven't posted in a while. Been working on a new house and that's been taking up a lot of my time. Frankly I've been a little bored with the xB and was getting really tired of my wheels and overall look. But recently I mustered up the motivation to change my front struts (Tokico HP). That took a 4 foot breaker bar to get the strut bolts undone - something I couldn't do in my old condo's garage. The rear shocks have been on for months. I put in new brake pads too. With the 'new' wheels and tires, it's like having a refreshed car.

Anyway, to the point... Since I needed new tires so I did something I always thought would look cool. I got some old Highlander wheels. The specs are a bit unconventional as far as the typical xB2 mods go. They're 17x6.5 et35. The offset is nice but the 6.5" width limited me to 205/50/17 tires as opposed to the typical 225/45/17 that most people with 17s use. Same diameter, but 20mm less wide, which might actually help with mileage. Basically, the specs are like the stock steel wheels, but now they're 17" and they stick out 10mm more than stock.

btw, I highly recommend the Hankook Ventus V12 tires. They're so smooth and quiet. We'll see how they are in 10k.

Hi CIONIDE. How ya doin?

That looks nice!!

How's your exhaust holding up? I have mine like that in my garage and have thought about putting it back on recently.

lol i was thinking of doing this a while back xD but no money Dx, with some coils or stechs, and some lower profile tires those would look amazing. Those look so awesome, i kinda didnt want to look at this thread Dx cuz then i would be hitting myself for not buying the highlander wheels for 200 bucks.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Parkers09xB, The TRD exhaust is holding up just fine. I'm not sure if you thought I had duals. I just noticed that's what it looks like in the pics. That's actually just my trailer hitch.

Kingshawty12, $200 would've been a steal. I paid $399 shipped, but they're pretty clean for takeoffs from an older SUV, so I bought them. I can see somebody slamming their car on these, but I have to keep my car at a decent height. The H-Techs are fine for me. But yeah, S-Techs or coilovers would look pretty nice.

Wow $200 I would've bought those so fast haha! Oh well my wheels were $225!

I actually remember this thread from you regarding the exhaust: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...ockoff+exhaust Still got that same one on there?

I'm running the actual TRD exhaust right now. The knockoff one is sitting in the garage. It's great, but I got the TRD for like $125 or something like that so I jumped on it.

Lookin' good!

Just curious, did you happen to weigh one of the wheels before tires went on?

Yes I did. They are 23 lbs. according to the bathroom scale. 3 lbs heavier than my previous wheels, but not too bad I guess. At least I lost some weight on the rubber.

Sweet that's an amazing price. Since you've had both, what's the difference like? Big? I'm guessing the real TRD one is quite good compared to the knockoff.
