I'm new here and I need some advice. I am looking at running 18x8 front and 18x9 rear +40 for both. Will I need a spacer for the rear? I am also undecided on springs. Either the NF210 or the Sportlines. The tires will be 225/40/18 for the front and not sure what size for the rear. Any info would a huge help.

With all the information given, you should be golden. We'll wait for CIONIDE to chime in, but I'm sure you'll be fine.
I'd go with the NFs, personally. Well... I lied... i'd go with DFs, but I doubt you want to lower it that much.

1. No spacers needed since you're going staggered.

2. The Sportlines with their heavier rear drop will even out the ride height a little more than the NF's, but the NF's provide a noticeably more comfortable ride.

3. With the NF's I'd go with 245/40-18 rear tires. With the Sportlines I'd go with 235/40-18 tires.

I had an '09 GTi before the xB and it had 18's. The car was ok but when you hit a bump it was very noticable. Hitting the same bump in the xB would go almost un-noticed. I've found both 17's and 18's that I like but just wanted some input. Thanks!
I had the exact same question and i just went from 16s to 18s on 225/40R18 Continental Extremecontact DWS and they're very quiet and very comfortable. The ride is a bit stiffer and you do feel the road more but that's not necessarily a bad thing. They are much more responsive, they grip so much it feels like the car will roll before it skids, and they are a pleasure to ride on. Its totally worth it. Keep in mind that you'll also feel smooth roads more too and that is a real pleasure.

Yes it is lowered with NF210's. The springs, wheels, tires and body kit are for sale. I don't have the car any longer.

These look nice, what all did you do prior to painting them? Did you lightly sand any? I can get a set of wheels real cheap and thought about painting them

I have some NF210, they are great for what they cost. I'd buy it again.
