Default Resetting TPMS?

I bought some TRD 19s with TPMS in it. Now the question is... how do I reset the TPMS? The light blinked and steadily turned on after around 20 miles after my attempt to reset it.
Now when attempting to reset it, (pressing the button and turning the key onto the on and lock position), the light will not go away. Currently have 37+ psi in them so I don't think that is the real problem.

i believe you might have to go to a Toyota dealership and get your four new TPMS re-configured with the TPMS Receiver.

If you're talking about different sensors than your xB originally came with, then yes they need to be programmed at the dealership (call to find out how much they charge). I'm not sure if the Toyota ScanTool will auto detect the sensors' ID codes inside the wheels, or if the tires & wheels need to be broken down to read the ID code that is written on each individual sensor. If you have to do that, it could get expensive to break down your tires & wheels, write down all the code #'s, then have your tires & wheels remounted & balanced.

Not so, CIONIDE. there a lil handheld device that can pic up on the TMPS signals and identify them without the need to dismount the tires.

Try setting the tire pressure to the specs in the door jamb, resetting the light with the button then drive around for a lil bit. if it still doesn't go off then its off the dealership you go.

Great to hear that the ID's can be auto-detected... much easier & cheaper.

Would setting it to the psi of a 16 inch tires be too low for a 19 inch tires? What is the correct way to reset based on the owners manual?(Sorry I don't have access to my manual for another few days until I go home).

Another question is, perhaps I'll need to go to the dealer, would I need to pay (or have them reconfigure) the sensors everything I switch between the steelies for the winter and the TRD for the summer? If so, what's the point of getting new sensors? haha

If those were your original sensors then every time you switch rims u need to switch the sensors over. no need to re-calibrate every time. on certain Toyota models they have a switch to select between 2 sets of sensors (one summer and one winter set).

It should be fine at the PSI of the 16 in rims. if i remember right xB2 is like 33 psi all around, that's plenty of air in the 19's.

You could just have a defective sensor. so if you tried everything that was suggested and no luck then you'll need new one(s).

what happens if the sensors werent put at the same wheel? would the light go off too?

say i bought new wheels, and the sensor that was on the front driver side tire, gets put on the rear passenger tire. will the light go off? or as long as theyre in any of the wheels/tires it'll be ok?

It doesn't matter which tire/wheel is on which corner of the vehicle.

Upon resetting the light, should the light go on the spot or shall it go off after driving a bit?

Would parking near my stock rims overnight have anything to do with the lights turning off? When I'm available to take it to the dealer, the light won't go on...

Yes; for example, if your stock wheels are in the same garage as the car, then the xB will pick up the sensors & the light will go off, even though they aren't mounted on the car.
