Default Silver Box dropped on 18s

My xB has only 79 miles and I just finished putting it together today...minus invisible bra. I went with Voxx 18s and the TRD lowering kit. Before you say, I know Voxx isn't the highest end wheel in the business but it suits my budget and this isn't an autocross mobile. I am very happy with the results and the Yokohama 520s are a nice tire for the price range.

I think it rides fine. I truly feel it did not compromise the ride quality enough to even talk about. Even my wife agreed it was fine.

Default tire size and offset?

Are you using 225/40/18 tires? Also, what offset are you using? I see all kinds of different offsets being used, so I'm not sure what to look for...

Yes, I am running 225/40-18 on 18x7.5. The offset is 45 as it is the only available in those wheels. I love these wheels because of the large enough lip and NO RIVETS!!! I hate rivets and many wheels like these have them. If I had one complaint, it would be too much offset, thus placing them too far into the wheel well. I certainly think they look good so I'm not worried about it. Also, with the body curving inward so much, wheels further out will just cause more dings in the paint behind the tires.

By the way, I got mine at America's Tire (www.tires.com). I think they have the best gig going for price and service. I was exactly $1350 out the door with Yokohama 520s, the wheels, and certificates for free tire replacement up to 60,000 miles. That even includes vandalism or owner caused destruction. If anyone uses America's Tire, they will work with you on price. I was able to shed $10 per tire and another $10 per wheel.

If I'm understanding you correctly, 45 offset puts the wheels under the car more than a 40 offset? So the lower the offset, the further out the tire goes, right? (Radone has 18's with a 40 offset. You have 45. I've seen someone else here with 3. Is anything between 40 and 45 good?

BTW, your car looks good.

Looks good...but I thnk cause of your pics, I may end up going with 19s, or 18s with a lower drop. I gotta close that wheel gap....

That is correct. The offset is the distance from the centerline of the wheel to the mounting surface. +40 means the surfaces of the rims that press against the hubs are 40 milimeters or 4 centimeters out from the center of the rim.

Stating anything between 40 and 45 is too generic because there is a direct relation to the width of the rim. If the rim is 7.5 inches wide then +35 - +45 is probably ok.
