Default Staggered fitment dangerous ?

I have been pricing wheels for days now for my box and today I ran across something nobody else has said. I told the sales rep that I wanted to do 20x10s and 20x 8.50s. He said I will sell them to you but good luck. He states that they shouldnt be used on a daily driver? He said in an emergency situation braking cornering etc. that it will cause problems. He says staggering on a front wheel drive car is absolutely a no no. He says looks great but dont do it? HELP that was my plan!!!!!

Yes 20x 8.50s in the front and 20x 10s in the back. Fit fine no rubbing but dangerous?

going staggered on a fwd is only for aesthetics at the cost of understeer. Most owners probably never drive their cars hard enough to put themselves at risk but there is a certain danger to putting on staggered rwd setup on a fwd car. Actually 'danger' would be a bit much but yes it effects your handling.

my advice to you would be to get some wheels that have no lip and just play around w/ your offsets if you want a flush fit. Otherwise its pretty piontless and kinda dumb to stagger on a fwd car. However some of these cars w/ these stretched tires and flush fitment are pretty dope. They'd be clowned on at any driver event but its a style and some ppl like it.

Going staggered changes the way the car was designed to handle. If you are doing some manuevers where it reaches a dangerous point, you are probably already in a real bad situation (like trying to avoid an accident, etc.)

i think it is not reccommended because you can't rotate your tires and they will wear out unevenly and you'll be constantly replacing your tires.

so if you do it, you should probably just have them as a set for shows only.

That's what I plan to do. ^^^^
I'll have a set for everyday driving and commuting with 19"x8.5" on all corners.
A staggered set of 19"x8.5" / 19"x9.5" with fat lips for weekend romps, trip to get a Slurpy at 7-11 (kidding ), or whenever I feel like....

Kinda like changing shoes..... which shoes do I want the box to wear today?

Too bad that dumb TPMS light will be on when its wearing the staggered set though. BTW... Does anybody have a good solution for that TPMS idiot light when having 2 sets of wheels?

does the staggered have the tmps sensors on them? maybe its why the light turn on. besides you should get tires with a long tread compound instead of changing tires all the time..I have 19's staggered and I drive it daily with no problems

I guess you don't get it....
I like the fact that I can change the look of the box by changing to a different wheel set. My daily straight 19's aren't as "pimp" looking as the staggered fat lip set. Again, kinda like you have more than 1 pair od shoes. ~~ I think I'll put some tape on the TPMS light.
