TMPS light
Had the TMPS light on the dash come on the other day . Checked the psi , all good in all fours. The temp was cold at night . I reset the light with the button under the dash . Seems okay now . Anyone had there's come on ? My XB gets driven only one or twice a week , so it sits alot .
the light will come on and stay on when its cold out.
i think the reason is because when air is cold it becomes more dense so it is putting less outward force inside the tire. so the sensor thinks you lost air. once the tire heat up again it will go off. happens to my xb very winter. wont hurt anything but you still need to check every now and then incase you really do have a low tire.

I was kinda worried too when my TPMS light came on (from switching wheels) but I found out that it does not affect anything else at all. I even heard of people disconnecting the light (those that have wheels for the summer and oem for winter). Sure beats paying the dealer $50+ each winter / summer time to reprogramme the sensors...
Freakin TPMS light came on again yesterday . OMG it was a liitle cold out big deal . Can't seem to reset it . Got air , maybe it's still too cold ..........WTF . Who invented this idea . Guess that's my rant for the day .
if you keep your tires set correctly and the sensors set right then you should have a problem, i work for toyota and see many of people come in and complain about this all the time but 90% of the time its just user air.
how the sensors are designed to work is on a lower threshold number not a upper. so if the car calls for 32PSI in all 4 tires i would recommend to filling over that maybe to 34 or even 36 and making sure they are all set to exactly the same because the system measures for a varience of 2-4PSI in of the 4 tires and a lower threshold of 32PSI.
so at 36PSI you should be good because you stay with in that 4PSI range all for tires and at -4 you still manage to maintain 32PSI
in my tC my TPMS light comes on maybe once a year

You should tell that to the toyota mechanic in my town that likes to let the air out of my tires because I fill them to high. On my factory wheels they would let them down to 32, on a cold morning they would drop to 26-28... I pump them back up to 40. Yes a bit over but I like the way it drives better and is still within the max psi range for the tire. Actually run 45 in my new tire/wheel set.
usually our rule of thumb in the dealership is if cars come in and we check tire pressures and there at 38 and no light we leave them but if they come in during the winter months well overfill them just a little maybe 2PSI because many people don't understand how the cold air effects it and if on there inspection sheet they see we put them at 34 and it only calls for 32 they'll ask a million questions on why that is and what not
