Default TPMS

So I'm picking up my TRD rims this weekend. (woo) I had a question for the folks here. I want to install tpms sensors in them (there arent any on this set). My question is, are the any that would be suggested? (besides the expensive toyota ones) .

Once installed would the light go out in the dash, or would the light need to be cleared at the dealer (like my old misreable murano) .

I'm planning on keeping the stock wheels that came on the car to use in the winter, new york gets potholes that will eat cars, let alone nice wheels.

so basically im looking to have two sets of wheels to switch during the year, and i dont want any tire lights on.

Any help would be appreciated.

To my knowledge, the only route is going to be OEM. My best advice would be to run the TPMS in the wheels you're more concerned about.

Yeah x 2 , I took mine out of the stock rims and installed them in the new rims . As for the stock rims you will have a light on for the winter .

The only way to not get any light with either set would be to either run two sets of TPMS and have them re-learned each time you switch wheels or to have the one set of TPMS moved between both sets of wheels. I would lean toward the two sets and re-learning. Most tire shops have the equipment to re-learn the sensors.

As for buying sensors you can get them on eBay for much less than the dealer and they work fine. I've had a set I bought on for years now.
