Default TPMS sensors

What happens if you put on wheels without sensors? Is it just a warning light?
Also does anyone have a source for the sensors, other than the dealer, they cost an
arm & leg from the dealer.

Thanks for your help!

pretty much, no sensors, you get a warning light that won't go away unless the bulb burns out

and there really arent any other places to get new sensors. they are really easy to swap off of your stock tires.
