Default XXR 512s

So I'm looking at these wheels for my box in 18". I wanted to know a few things:

- Will these fit with DF210 springs?
- What's a good fitment so they are flush with the fender but tuck in just a little bit?
- If these won't work, then what's a good wheel that fits this style that will work?

I found a pic of a BSP with these wheels but I can't tell what he is dropped on and it doesn't say. Here's the pic:

I like the look of this car except it needs a little more drop so the tires tuck just a little bit.

I don't know anything about wheels so I need help from the best.

Thanks!

Those wheels are only available with +15 offset in 18's. The wheels will stick out past the edge of the front fenders by more than 1/2" and it would take some crazy stretched tires to try and keep from rubbing on a DF drop.

those look like 17's, im sure the 18's would rub with that offset, 17's are perfect size for the oldschool look imo

So if I got 17s instead I don't have to worry about rubbing? And I don't have a problem rolling the fenders. Would that work?

It's not the wheel size (17", 18", 19" etc.) that determines whether or not rubbing will occur, it's the outside tire diameter and the wheel offset. When you go with larger diameter wheels, you should put on lower profile tires that will keep the outside diameter close to stock.

I think the tire and wheel calculator will help you understand how the changes from stock may or may not work, and what the resultant changes will be. Also be aware that the calculator is based on the mathematical calculation for tire diameter, but some tires may be a little larger or smaller. For example, 225/45-17 tires calculate out to 25" in diameter, but my Falken Ziex ZE-912's are listed as 25.2" in diameter by the manufacturer.

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

Keep in mind that the stock wheels are 16"x6.5" with +45 offset, and the tires are 205/55x16".

Have fun playing with the calculator/comparer!

haha. that's my car up there man. those are 512's 18x8 +15 offset. I run 225/45 18's on all 4 corners. I'm lowered on DF210's and TRD struts. It rubs a lot in the rear even with just 1 person in the back, so I had to roll and then pull my fenders. Here's how she sits now. Sorry for the crappy pic, all I have is my iPhone.

I powdercoated them bronze, polished the thin outer lip (cause i curb them alot), and i applied a thin red inner lip line. I'm about to powdercoat them gunmetal, but who knows when I'll have the cash for that.

Cionide is right, it's all in the offset of your wheels. If you don't want to rub, you might want to look into a higher offset wheel so they sit closer to the hub. But if you love this look (like I do), you'll have to sacrifice doing some crazy fender work to it. Hope this helps.

How hard was the fender work really? And with the roll and pull does it rub anymore?

well i rolled them 3 times total with the fender rolling tool, and even though it looked flush, it still rubbed. So i had to go past flush (which means pulling) and now the fender sticks out in the back. It wasn't that hard rolling and pulling, it just took a lot of time cause if you rush it, the paint cracks and then rust will form. So be careful. It doesn't rub anymore even when the rear is fully loaded with people or things. Too bad I'm getting rid of this thing pretty soon...

I just put on xxr 002's 16x8 with 0 offset, and theres prolly no way im going to drop my car with the rubbing it already does with all the dips and bumps i got in my neck of the woods. I was considering dropping an inch, might just keep it stock height. Right now it just looks like a mini monster truck, which i like so far.

Sorry for the late response, you cant really tell but I dropped the rears with 1st gen xb oem stock springs. It gave my car an even drop compared to my fronts. I like how it looks, despite i wish i could dump it. Im going practical for right now, i had 4 people in my car and hit a dip and rubbed just a bit not enough to damage my tires though. Ill be putting more pictures up soon.

As for just the rims with no drop, i was happy with just looking at my rims. After a couple days i couldnt stand looking at my rear how it was just sitting so high like a dragster, so i dropped just the rears. Sorry i didnt get a picture for you with just the rims and no drop.

haha, it happened my friend. I have a crazy steep drive way as well. All my friends who try to back out or go in straight with there car scrape the crap out of their lips. So just the 1st gen xb oem stock rear springs for now, maybe ill get some new struts if they start to die out sometime down the line. I have less then 5k on my car right now, so wont be needing those anytime soon.

I was thinking of running those wheels in the flat black w/ red lip. I also wanted to run 225/45/18. How much wider do those wheels come past the fenders? I want the pro kit or TRD springs. With that kit will i rub? Will it look bad if i did not lower it? Thank for your help.

JRAY, you're gonna rub. Your car will look like a roller skate if you don't lower it. I'm on DF210's and I rolled and pulled my rear fenders. The fronts shouldn't give you any problems.

Thanks for a quick response. Thats a bummer. If it were my car I would probably do it, but since its my wife's she will kill me if i start rolling the fenders and stuff. I think i might just run some 225/45/18's with an xxr wheel with an offset of like 40 or so. Maybe even 215's and that drop. I think i will be ok without rubbing then. Bummed though. I love that look you got going. Thanks for you help.
