Questions about HID Kits

I have just started to research HID headlights. And i've found a few kits on amazon. I have no idea what i'll need to do it right, or what brands/products work the best. I also read that they need to be "retrofitted" which I still have no clue what that means. I want to install fog lights on my xD as well, and some say it's so easy you can DIY, but i'm very reluctant. So here's what I have so far

I have heard nothing but good things about them, an super easy install, no retrofitting needed.

Surely these lights are very good and effective. I can't tell you about brand and price but in general these lights perform well..
