When I was trying to put the plastic retainer back under the metal prongs they broke off because solder isn't very flexible :/ Couldn't find my iron so I had to go out and buy a new one, and damn those things are a _____ to get straight. Thanks for the upgrade though.

Hi how do you remove the clear plastic housing from the white plastic ?

 

You should NOT remove the clear plastic housing from the white plastic. Remove the black end piece to get to the LED board.

 

my intention is to put and led 6 strip in the clear plastic housing but iam not sure if anyone has attempted this before.

 

I hope you're planning on doing this for a show car. Pretty much only white and amber are legal colors for a turn lamp, but having a LED strip with those colors at all times would make it less noticable when you actually turn on your signal.

As for separating the parts there's no screws in place, so I'm guessing heat + force will do the trick. But in all likeliness you're not going to be able to put it back together, or you'll just damage it when taking it apart.

 

yes i have amber ... and they will work when the flasher is turned on. iam just thinking about the housing.. they seem to be glued i wonder if its the same and the headlamp where u need to put in oven for a few min to get that glue soft then do my work and replace in oven or gorilla glue it back.. would not be an issue.
