Default 2009 Scion xD Series 2.0 Major Electrical Problem - Need Help :(

Hi, everyone. I have been pulling my hair out and trying to get this issue resolved for about 6 months and it's becoming absolutely crippling and I hope someone here can help. I bought a 2009 Scion xD series 2.0 back in October or so to replace my older car that was at the end of its life, and I went for something newer specifically because I do not have a lot of free time with my current job and then this happened. When I bought the car from the dealership, the blower fan wasn't working. We worked out a deal where they would fix this issue and had it put in the contract. However, driving it home the lights started to dim, then all of the hazard lights started coming on (battery, check engine, air bags, etc...) and the turn signals stopped working. The radio screen also started cutting out and restarting, because it was losing power and then trying to restart itself (but not getting very far). Eventually, the car completely died right as I was able to pull over into a parking lot. It was late at night, so my only option was to hitch a ride over to the nearest Walmart and grab a new battery. I put the new battery in the car, and it ran and got me home, but at this point the turn signals and blower were still not working.

I got it into the first shop that the dealer sent me to, and they replaced the ECM and blower fan fuse after 2 weeks of waiting and the car seemed to be working fine... for about a week and a half. Driving it home from work, the same thing started happening: the turn signals cut out, the blower fan stopped blowing, the check engine light came on. Luckily, it was daytime so I wasn't drawing quite as much off of the battery and was able to get home. I took it back to the same shop, and they told me that the battery had a dead cell. I told them that this was a brand new battery, and they suggested that I warranty it. So I replaced the battery and nothing, the same problem was happening. None of the electrical issues resolved. I also noticed at this point that the gear shift indicator (under the gas gauge) was now blank. I don't know if this was happening at the beginning, but I noticed it now. Unfortunately, this was now a week or so before Christmas and I couldn't get it back into the shop and it had to sit.

I called the dealership, they gave me the runaround for shops and told me that I needed to take it to another shop for a second opinion before I could return it and I wound up not being able to get it in until a week into January.
In that time, I did take it over to the auto shop and get the Check Engine Code read, and it read: P0705 - Transmission Range Sensor Malfunction.

So I finally got it into the second shop and the same loss of power and more indicator lights going crazy happened right before I got it there, so I know that the car really is just not driveable when this issue happens. Well, they also saw the P0705 Code and replaced the TRS and the blower fan fuse (again). Of course, even thought the dealer is contractually obligated to handle this problem, I wound up charged for this. I gritted my teeth and dealt with it, because at least the car was working. For about 2 weeks. Again, I was driving home from work and suddenly the turn signals cut out, the transmission indicator went blank, and the blower fan died. I don't know that this is related, but it did happen when I was shifting from reverse into drive, but this could be a coincidence.

I called the dealership, they're claiming they have no obligation to fix or take back the car (and I can't afford a lawyer to go after them for breach of contract), won't do anything about it or take it back, and I have no idea what to do at this point. I bought this car because I really don't have time to be working on a car right now and then I got completely screwed on this. Does anybody know what this issue could be? I have put in 2 new batteries, replaced the transmission range sensor, the ECU, and had the alternator tested and this keeps happening. I am completely at the end of my rope and i don't know what to do next. I can work on cars, but I have zero experience with electrical issues like this and I don't know how to do anything beyond checking fuses and installing a stereo.

Thanks.

EDIT: Also, the windows still work when all of this is happening. I know this because I always have to use hand signals every time this happens. Thought I would note since it looks like electrical issues with the windows are common in this model, but mine doesn't seem to be having this issue.

The only time I've seen anything like this is when I put a down payment on a Camry that (unknown to me) had been Underwater.

There is something wrong with ALL the electrical systems of your car. If I were you, I would look at the fuse box in the engine compartment (open it and look inside). Do you maybe have a water leak in the car that is finding its way to the fuse box?
Or to some other wiring components? Do you see melted wires anywhere? How about chewed wires caused by a squirrel or rodent? How about rust on any wire connections?

Do you remember if it rained (or you washed your car) right before the symptoms returned?

Perhaps water getting into the dash somehow?

I can't find the 2009 xD fuse box diagrams, but I would imagine that the 2010-2014 would be similar. Look at the functions of the different fuse boxes:

It's not the drive shift indicator, I already had that serviced. I am not getting that same engine code, and only one of the times did the car throw that code. The other times the check engine light came on I mostly took it straight back to the shop the dealer was sending me to, so I didn't get the codes read those time. The only other time I caught an engine code it was reading a very generic "power issue" type code that I didn't save, if I recall.

I don't see any chewed or burned wires in the engine bay or fuze boxes where I can see. I have no idea about under the dash, I'm not even sure what I would be looking for.

It was very lightly drizzling the last time this issue started, however, I also drove it through rain and heavy snow several times without issue. It was also not raining the first time this issue started on the way back from the dealer.

I had the same issue with my 04 xB and the trans range sensor p0705. The problem ended up being the body ground wire was lose at the battery.

Yeah, usually start troubleshooting at highest point upstream: battery and battery cables.
