Default Which CAI would you choose?

Out of all the CAI options, K&N, Fujita, Weapon R, Takeda, TRD (probably some I missed) which would you choose and why?

Which gives the best horsepower, quality, price, etc?

I am wanting to get one, just so many options so wondering the pros and cons to each.

I'm very interested in the injen intake. It's suppose to make 8 hp 9 lbs torque . Waiting for it to be available! sp2104. Other than that Takeda, Fujita, and Weapon R all peaked my interest.

Thats more than advertised with the K&N which was between 5 and 6. I hadn't seen that one yet.

don't waste your time with the TRD, it's bogus. Just a nicer filter in the same airbox.
I noticed a difference after putting on the Fujita.

Seems like the xD Injen intake is on the main page of their site and says the release date was on the 5th! Very interesting this is to me...If it's giving that much torque then I might go with this one if it's not too pricey.

I thought I seen a nice TRD one, but after looking again I realized it was for the XB.

Is Injen a fairly reliable brand? Does anyone have the link to the CAI? I wonder why theirs is making a few more HP and torque than the others.

The K&N shows 5.4 gain, and can be had for around $250. But if the Injen claims are reliable you would get an extra 2.5-3 HP from what I have seen advertised. I emailed them about it to see if it was available.

Yeah, I don't really know too much about Injen to know if thats reliable or not... I would have to see the price too. Otherwise I may just go with the Takeda or something that people on here have actually tried. It looks like the other Scion ones I found from Injen are close to $300.

Saw a post in the tC section about injen and two other intakes being dyno tested seperatly, the injen come out the best keeping the air to fuel ratio better than the other two. Injen was the best but that was a tC. All of them I've seen though cost a lot.

Ya, Injen are the most expensive I've seen that I can recall. If price is an issue there's AFE. That's what I have on an xA. There's a picture in my profile if you want to see it. You shouldn't be too worried about weather you get a 4 or a 7 hp increase since you wont be able to tell the difference, and if you like to race every now and then driving skills will be more important than 1 or 2 horsepower.

It's on their main page under the corolla, before you enter the site. sp2104- It says it'll be available June 5th (come and gone), but the Honda fit intake was supposed to be available May 29th, but wasn't on their parts page until June 10th. So there seems to be a lag.

I emailed Injen about it but never got a response.

How much do you have to worry about water with the CAI's?

go with a injen or takeda both around the same price. and both known brands. and they canboth be converted into short ram. i wouldnt go with trd cause the bypas valve causes some restrictions and cannot be converted into short ram

I e-mailed Injen as well (*2), but never heard anything. I hear they're slow when it comes to this kind of thing. I kinda expect it in the next week or so. As for water in the intake, that's a worry for me too. As long as you're not nose diving through 1.5 feet of water you should be alright. My favorite air bypass is AEM's, looks like it would work if you submerged the filter. I don't know if it would mess with the Takeda or Injen intake.

I try my best to avoid water, but sometimes when youre stuck in the rain the roads around here can get flooded fast. I accidently hit a flooded road and I bet the water was up to the bottom of the car. I got out of it as soon as I could by turning into a parking lot but it happens.

The K&N one shows 5.4 hp and don't look like it would get water in it since it sits where the stock one does.
