the header should work.... the dude from puerto rico used a 1zz exhaust mani for his turbo build and it worked so dont see why the header wouldnt bolt up to the block. but i dont know how it would fit to the midpipe...

^where u hear?
DC website has been down freakin forever!

Not to go OT but speaking of our header and performance, what are anyone's thoughts on ceramic coating or thermal wrapping the header to cut down on heat? Something practical to do with real benefits? or is that stuff only for the obsessive compulsive? thoughts?

Header would be sweet on this car. Made a big difference in my old Civic.

No experience with it, but I have heard that wrapping a stock header can lead to premature failure becuase it is not made to handle as much head as the wrap will keep inside.

Wow... I guess I missed the meeting, too... which is why I was asking if it would bolt up. Gee... had I known there was a meeting, I'd have gone. Do you know anyone who was at said meeting? We could just ask them!

Could the vvti-L be applied to the Xd? now that would be a milestone in terms of NA power

It would be a different engine like the 1zz-fe to the 2zz-ge. Only the VVTL-I was on the 2zz-ge. I don't know if you could swap heads because they are different.

Default Yaris Headers

My wife's ride is a Yaris, and it looked like it would work so, I ordered and tried the Megan Header for the Yaris.

The flange on the block fits however the angle and the connecting tube to the downpipe is a different size and it just won't work without a LOT of modifications to the installed exhaust system on the XD I tried but had to give up. :<(
PS.
It's a ____er to take the heat-shield off.... not to mention the rest of the stuff....

Had to send the header back

Thanks for being a Guniea pig for us.

I understand the compatibilities were difficult to overcome with your exhaust, but did it look like this header would work if you planned for it with a custom exhaust?

Which Yaris exhaust did you use? Can you post a manufacture and part number? Could be useful if some decides to make it work, and you may save the company some hassles on returns.

Unhappy Headers

After MUCH RESEARCH, I got Megan Racing to send me a Yaris Header to install in my XD. The header flange is mountable with no problems on the 2ZR-FE engine, and all the fittings topside work fine, EXCEPT that below the header, nothing fits and ALL the rest of the exhaust would have to be modified to use that header. There is not enough room to re-pipe the exhaust in a different route, as the pipe "tunnels" are already pre done in the chassis flooring. It would be just too much hassle to make it work.
I ended up sending back the header for a refund. They were nice enough to let me try the header and allow a refund if things didn't work out.
Too Bad, man ! that Megan header was simply B E A U T I F U L !!!!!
